Job Summary: We are seeking a highly technical and leadership-oriented QA Automation Lead responsible for defining and evolving the QA automation strategy for a critical fintech platform. Our culture is rooted in **ownership**, continuous improvement, cross-team collaboration, and data-driven, quality-focused decision-making. **The Challenge** We seek a **QA Automation Lead** with a highly technical profile and strong leadership skills to be responsible for **defining and evolving the QA automation strategy** for a critical fintech platform. This role combines **technical leadership, automation architecture design, and mentoring**, with active participation in quality decisions, CI/CD practices, and test development standards. Your mission will be to **elevate the level of automation**, ensure framework scalability, foster a quality culture, and support your team’s technical growth. You will work closely with **Engineering, Product, and DevOps** to ensure reliable, measurable releases with controlled risk. **This role reports directly to the QA Manager**, contributing to the definition, execution, and continuous improvement of the company’s QA Automation strategy. **What You’ll Do** · Lead the **QA Automation strategy**, defining guidelines, roadmaps, and automation priorities. · Design, evolve, and maintain **automation frameworks** using **Java 21+, SerenityBDD, Gradle, and the Screenplay pattern**. · Define **technical automation standards**: project structure, patterns, SOLID principles, clean code, and best practices. · Ensure proper automation of **APIs, microservices, and end-to-end flows** (Cucumber + RestAssured). · Lead integration and execution of automated tests in **CI/CD pipelines**, collaborating closely with DevOps. · Analyze test results and execution times, driving **continuous improvement of the framework and strategy**. · Define and monitor **quality and automation KPIs** (coverage, stability, defect leakage, feedback time). · Serve as mentor and guide for the QA Automation and QA Engineer teams in their technical growth. · Promote the **Shift-Left testing** and quality culture from early development stages. · Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and in defining **DoD / DoR** from a quality and risk perspective. · Report **progress, metrics, risks, and improvement opportunities to the QA Manager**, aligning technical execution with the department’s quality strategy. **Our Tech Stack (non-exclusive)** · Automation: SerenityBDD, Java (21+), Gradle, Screenplay, Cucumber, RestAssured, Selenium. · APIs & Utilities: Postman, cURL. · Performance: JMeter (dashboards, assertions, parameterization). · Git: Advanced Git usage in Bitbucket repositories. · Data: Advanced SQL (joins, aggregations, subqueries). · Management & Quality: Jira, AIOTest (preferred), Git, CI/CD execution. · Cloud: AWS (S3, SQS/SNS, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch). · AI (preferred): use of assistants for test case generation and regression prioritization. · Security: OWASP fundamentals, awareness of PCI DSS/ISO 27001. **Essential Requirements** · 5+ years of QA experience, including at least 3 years leading automation or technical leadership. · Advanced proficiency in Java 21+ applied to automation. · Solid experience with SerenityBDD + Screenplay + Gradle + Cucumber. · Proven experience designing and maintaining scalable automation frameworks. · Advanced API and microservice automation (RestAssured). · Experience with Git handling and best practices (branching, PRs, code reviews). · Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines. · Strong knowledge of SOLID principles, clean code, and design patterns. · Functional knowledge of AWS, especially S3 and integration services. · Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. · Leadership, mentoring, and technical decision-making capabilities. · Excellent documentation, communication, and bug management in Jira and Confluence. **Bonus Points If You Have** · Experience in **fintech or financial systems** (payments, reconciliations, webhooks, events). · Knowledge or experience with **Cypress or Playwright**. · Additional web and/or mobile automation (Selenium / Appium). · Experience in performance testing (JMeter). · Use of **AI** for test case generation, regression prioritization, or failure analysis. **Who Fits Well Here** · A technical leader with strong quality and architectural judgment. · Capable of influencing, mentoring, and elevating the team. · Results-, metrics-, and impact-oriented. · Proactive, with a mindset of continuous improvement. · Excellent communicator with both technical and business teams. · Comfortable in fast-paced, changing, and rapidly growing environments. **Work Conditions:** * **Contract:** Fixed-term with possibility of renewal. * **Modality:** Remote. * **Schedule:** Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm (Peru Time). * **Benefits:** * Opportunity to lead the automation strategy for a growing fintech. * Dynamic, collaborative, and innovative work environment. * Professional development and continuous learning opportunities. * 100% covered EPS health insurance. * Eligibility for company stock options. **Work Conditions:** * **Contract:** Fixed-term with possibility of renewal. * **Modality:** Remote. * **Schedule:** Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm (Peru Time). * **Benefits:** * Opportunity to lead the automation strategy for a growing fintech. * Dynamic, collaborative, and innovative work environment. * Professional development and continuous learning opportunities. **Are You Motivated?** Send your CV to recruitment@kashio.net with subject line: QA Automation Lead and/or apply directly: Employment Type: Full-time Salary: $550.000 – $700.000 per month Application Question(s): * Tell us about an experience where you led the implementation of a test automation framework from scratch.
