Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Mining Engineer specializing in Open Pit to develop and optimize mining projects, delivering innovative solutions and technical support. Key Highlights: 1. Development of mining projects from conceptual stage through feasibility. 2. Preparation of capital and operating cost estimates. 3. Independent technical evaluations of mining projects. Our team in Chile is growing, and we are currently recruiting a **Senior Mining Engineer – Open Pit** to join our Chile office. **About the Role** * Development of mining projects, from conceptual engineering through feasibility engineering, including short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans. * Design of mining phases, dumps, and stockpiles. * Equipment selection and fleet requirement calculations. * Preparation of capital and operating cost estimates. * Conducting site visits as required to collect essential data, assess project or operating mine conditions, and effectively deliver consulting services. * Contributing to company technical reports covering mine planning, alternative study development, operating and capital cost estimation, and mineral resource estimation. * Providing independent technical evaluations of both developing mining projects and operating mines. * Assisting in proposal preparation, including scope of work and effort-hour estimation. * Maintaining communication with clients and various stakeholders. **About You** * Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering. * 10–15 years of professional experience specifically in open-pit mining operations and/or consulting. **(Mandatory)** * Advanced English proficiency **(Mandatory – will be assessed)** * Proficiency in mining planning software: **Whittle 4X (Mandatory),** **MineSight and/or Vulcan (Mandatory)** * Experience with other mining software is considered an asset. * Technical competence in open-pit mine planning and scheduling, phase and dump design, and cost estimation. * Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal relationship skills. * Registration as a Qualified Person (QP) is considered an asset. **Why Ausenco?** We support individual growth and aim to empower you to work in a way that leverages your strengths and meets your needs.
