Continuous improvement in safety, health, environment, and quality Location: Santiago, Chile Stage: Experienced Level Time: Full time Type: Employee Job Description Provide specialized support for preventive management of Safety, Occupational Health, Environment, and Quality in clients' mining projects, ensuring correct implementation of policies, procedures, and standards defined by the company and the client. This position aims to strengthen operational continuity through early risk identification, promotion of safe practices, and direct on-site team support, contributing to regulatory compliance and continuous QHSSE improvement. 1\. Conduct Safety, Occupational Health, and Environmental awareness sessions. 2\. Conduct new employee inductions (IRL) and RIOHS inductions for personnel. Participate in and/or prepare management reports, event/finding closure reports, and inspection closure reports arising from activities conducted in projects, workshops, offices, or laboratories. 3\. Maintain occupational safety and health (OSH) and environmental management (EM) documentation organized and up to date. 4\. Review ARTs, checklists, and/or other preventive tools for assigned areas. 5\. Conduct safety and environmental inspections in designated areas. 6\. Carry out OSH and EM activities as instructed to meet corporate and/or client requests. 7\. Prepare documents, print accreditation-related documentation, credentials, signage materials, forms, letters, worksheets, etc., required to sustain progress on company OSH and EM matters. 8\. Actively participate in preparing project kick-off folders when assigned. Register and monitor courses via the mutual fund portal. 9\. Develop, review, and/or update risk matrices or any other required OSH & EM documents. If necessary, provide support in awareness sessions, training, general document preparation, or other tasks to assist with project personnel accreditations. 10\. Coordinate, implement, and comply with the company’s risk prevention program and its derivatives. Report defects, failures, unsafe or substandard conditions in tools or facilities to direct or indirect supervisors, where such conditions may cause injury to personnel or damage to equipment and facilities. 11\. Comply with the Internal Regulations on Order, Hygiene, and Safety. 12\. Care for and mandatorily use personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure personnel under supervision also comply with PPE usage requirements. 13\. Ensure order and cleanliness of facilities using available resources. 14\. Actively participate in current Safety, Occupational Health, and Environmental topics within the company and the client’s organization to prevent accidents, injuries, and negative environmental impacts, and to comply with local regulations. 15\. Respond appropriately to undesired events per applicable law and organizational guidelines related to ethics and policies. 16\. Occasionally operate light vehicles upon prior authorization. 17\. Commitment to Safety and Compliance: Verify adherence to standards and procedures. 18\. Fulfill activities under the QHSSE Leadership Program. Effective Communication: Provide feedback to personnel and coordinate actions. 19\. Rigor and Operational Discipline: Prepare preliminary incident reports and investigations, communicate findings to stakeholders, implement corrective/preventive actions, and conduct follow-up. Leadership and People Development: Train new personnel on job-specific tasks and safe work procedures. Systems Management and Continuous Improvement: Implement and maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS) within their area. Supervise compliance with QHSSE standards and programs. Education: Engineer or Technician in Risk Prevention, registered with SNS Knowledge: Familiarity with regulations and corporate standards of major mining clients. Knowledge of ISO management system certifications and client-specific standards (e.g., ECF – EPF – material risks, ETC). Proficiency in occupational health, risk control, MINSAL protocols, and statistical data analysis. Knowledge of client-specific preventive tools (e.g., ART, AST, HCR; ECF, BOW TIE, critical risks, EST). Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar roles supporting mining operations or drilling services.
