Amazon Web Services is seeking to hire a highly motivated, top-tier Data Center Technician to join our growing Infrastructure Operations team and provide hands-on support for its Data Center location. The scope of work includes: managing tasks and priorities through the ticketing system and coordinating with the Data Center Manager; troubleshooting and repairing servers experiencing hardware and network issues. The role involves hardware diagnostics and replacement of failed components. Candidates must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities.
The technician will be based in Santiago, but will also provide remote support to other Data Centers in the region as needed. They will be responsible for daily management of server, network equipment, and cabling incidents.
Data Center Operations is a 24x7 team, and this position requires non-standard working hours.
Key job responsibilities
* Work on assigned tickets and meet SLAs through a defined workflow
* First point of contact for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues
* Perform routine server hardware repairs (disks, motherboards, etc.)
* Perform routine repairs related to networking, server hardware, and operating systems
* Collaborate regularly with cross-functional teams to complete routine tasks
* Adhere to data center security best practices
* Perform server upgrades, rebuilds, and scheduled maintenance as required

A Data Center Technician works as part of the Operations team, whose primary responsibility is maintaining and preserving data center infrastructure. You will serve as the primary point of contact for both internal customers (e.g., Network Engineers, Systems Engineers, Software Developers, Database Engineers, Technical Operations) and external customers (e.g., Hardware Vendors, Contractors, Service Providers).

* Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field OR equivalent professional experience
* CCNA, CCNP, and/or JNCIA certification
* Demonstrated experience troubleshooting hardware and performing isolation testing on high-performance equipment
* Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, cabling, fiber optic types, and test equipment such as VFL, power meters, and OTDR
* Fluent Spanish and advanced English
* May require local and/or international travel
* This role has a physical component requiring the ability to lift and install equipment up to 18 kg; may require working in confined spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

* Experience with Linux or similar operating systems
* Knowledge of network design, protocols, and troubleshooting
* Experience performing hardware troubleshooting and component replacement
* Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies
