Join the **IT Engineering** team as an **Integration Engineer**, where you’ll play a vital role in enhancing employee productivity across all departments at Checkr. In this role, you’ll design, build, and maintain enterprise integrations that connect our critical business systems—and serve as a trusted partner to internal teams relying on them. You’ll go beyond pure execution, helping *stakeholders* articulate their needs, defining requirement scope, and using your influence to align competing priorities. As our integration and AI functions converge, you’ll bring AI fluency to identify opportunities where technologies such as Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) can make workflows smarter and more efficient. #### **What You’ll Do:** * **Drive requirements and stakeholder alignment:** Collaborate with internal partners across departments to proactively uncover needs, ask the right questions, and translate business problems into clear technical specifications. Use your influence to help teams prioritize and set realistic expectations. * **Build enterprise integrations:** Design, develop, and deploy integrations using iPaaS platforms (primarily **Tray.io**) to connect critical systems such as Salesforce, Workday, Zendesk, Snowflake, and other enterprise applications. * **Cross-functional collaboration:** Work closely with engineers, business systems, and product teams to align integration work with broader technical initiatives. Serve as a bridge between non-technical stakeholders and technical teams. * **Platform optimization:** Lead efforts to consolidate and optimize our integration platform ecosystem, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. * **Apply AI where it adds value:** Identify opportunities to improve workflows using AI technologies (LLMs, natural language processing, and RAG) — moving from basic data synchronization toward adaptive, intelligent solutions. * **Iterate and improve:** Gather feedback on integration solutions, continuously refining them based on user needs and emerging technological capabilities. * **Documentation and knowledge transfer:** Create and maintain clear documentation and *runbooks* to reduce dependency on individual team members. * **Strategic planning:** Contribute to integration and AI-aligned roadmaps tied to organizational goals. * **Stay current with trends:** Research the latest advancements in iPaaS and AI/ML platforms, sharing findings with the team. #### **What You Bring:** * **Advanced English (mandatory requirement)** * **Availability to work hybrid in Santiago (3x2)** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. A graduate degree is a plus. * **3+ years** of professional experience in integration engineering, automation, or related technical roles. * **3+ years** of hands-on experience building integrations on at least one iPaaS platform (**Tray.ai, Workato, Zapier, MuleSoft, Boomi**, or similar). Strong preference for **Tray.ai** experience. * Solid programming skills in at least one scripting language (**Python, JavaScript, or Ruby**) with ability to write custom code within integration workflows. * **1+ year** of experience in AI/ML projects—including building AI-powered solutions, working with LLMs, or implementing RAG architectures. * Experience with MCP, agent development, agent-to-agent automation, and related AI technologies. * Familiarity with cloud platforms (**AWS, Azure, or GCP**) is a plus. * Strong understanding of API design, RESTful services, webhooks, and event-driven architectures. * Experience with enterprise SaaS applications and databases (Salesforce, Workday, Zendesk, Snowflake, etc.). * Exceptional ability to tackle open-ended problems in unstructured environments—synthesizing complex requirements into scalable technical solutions. * Proven track record of effective collaboration in cross-functional teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. * Attention to detail with commitment to code quality, documentation, and operational excellence. * A deep interest in leveraging both traditional integration patterns and AI technologies to transform internal processes.
