Brinks seeks to incorporate a **Lawyer** into its team:
**Position Context:**
The company operates in the cash-in-transit, cash management, and private security industry—a sector characterized by high regulatory density, fragmented regulations across jurisdictions, and complex physical operations (fleet, routes, licensed personnel, regulated facilities). The Legal Department is not a support function that merely processes queries; it is a strategic actor participating in business decisions, anticipating risks, and proposing viable solutions.
The person joining will work directly with the Legal Management team and must operate with a high degree of autonomy—managing their own workload, prioritizing matters based on independent judgment, and proposing solutions before escalating issues. They are expected to actively contribute to building and improving the area’s tools, processes, and standards.
**Purpose of the Role**
To provide comprehensive legal advice with a business-oriented perspective, participating in strategic and operational decision-making, ensuring regulatory, legal, and contractual compliance, and proactively managing legal, regulatory, and contractual risks. The expected approach is solution-oriented—not restrictive: translating legal risk into actionable information enabling better business decisions.
**Main Responsibilities**
**End-to-end Contract Management**
* Drafting, reviewing, structuring, and negotiating contracts with clients, suppliers, leases, and other commercial and operational agreements.
* Defining contractual terms aligned with business strategy and the company’s risk appetite.
* Identifying, assessing, and mitigating contractual risks.
* Supporting the entire contractual process—from negotiation through execution, and including renewals or modifications as needed.
**Legal Advisory and Risk Management**
* Assessing legal and regulatory risks in operations, projects, and new business models.
* Defining legal positions and strategic recommendations with a preventive focus.
* Anticipating legal impacts arising from operational, regulatory, or market changes.
* Supporting business decision-making by translating legal risks into concrete impacts and viable alternatives.
**Business and Strategic Project Involvement**
* Collaborating with commercial, operational, and support areas in developing new solutions, products, and relevant implementations.
* Aligning legal structure with commercial and operational objectives.
* Participating in local and regional projects (coordinating with peer legal teams across other countries within the Market Unit, as applicable).
**Litigation and Contingency Management**
* Monitoring and coordinating labor, civil, and commercial litigation.
* Managing relationships with external law firms: defining strategy, tracking progress, reviewing fees, and evaluating performance.
* Analyzing contingencies and defining resolution strategies.
**Compliance and Regulatory Affairs**
* Implementing and applying KYC/AML policies, personal data protection policies, and applicable sector-specific regulatory compliance requirements.
* Validating clients, suppliers, and operations from a regulatory standpoint.
* Integrating compliance requirements into contracts, processes, and new projects.
**Corporate Governance**
* Preparing and maintaining corporate minutes and corporate documentation.
* Coordinating legally required documentation for the company and fulfilling corporate and regulatory obligations.
**Standardization, Processes, and Tools**
* Developing, maintaining, and improving legal templates (NDAs, master agreements, offer letters, etc.) and contractual standards.
* Actively contributing to optimizing legal processes and building tools that enhance departmental efficiency.
**Requirements**
* **Education**: Lawyer
* **Experience**: Minimum 5 years in corporate in-house legal roles, or a combination of law firm and corporate experience. Experience in regulated industries (security, transportation, logistics, financial services) is highly valued.
* **Language**: Advanced English (reading and drafting contracts, reporting to headquarters, interacting with regional teams).
