Job Summary
***Talos Customer \& Technology Solutions Chile SpA*** is seeking a practical **IT Support Technician**, with solid technical skills and a service-oriented mindset, to join our team in San Javier. As an IT Support Technician, you will provide daily technical assistance for computers, business applications, user accounts, peripherals, and basic network connectivity. You will diagnose hardware and software issues, configure equipment, respond to support requests, assist users, and escalate complex technical incidents to the appropriate IT specialists. You will work closely with IT support, technical services, systems, networking, customer service, and operations teams to maintain reliable workplace technology and minimize disruptions for users. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in computer support, IT support, help desk, desktop support, technical support, computer maintenance, networking, or similar technology environments. Responsibilities: Provide first-line technical support for desktop and laptop computers. Diagnose and resolve common hardware, software, operating system, and connectivity issues. Install and configure computers, applications, and authorized peripheral devices. Troubleshoot Windows-based computers and common business applications. Assist users with email, web browsers, productivity applications, and collaboration tools. Provide support for Microsoft 365 applications, as applicable. Assist with routine user account, password, permission, and access requests. Troubleshoot printers, scanners, monitors, keyboards, headsets, and other peripheral devices. Provide basic support for LAN, Wi\-Fi, internet, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, and connectivity issues. Prepare and configure equipment for new employees or users. Perform approved software installation, configuration, and update activities. Assist with routine hardware replacement and maintenance. Receive, categorize, prioritize, and update IT support tickets. Accurately document technical issues, troubleshooting activities, and resolutions. Monitor open incidents and follow up with users when necessary. Appropriately escalate complex network, systems, infrastructure, application, or security issues. Assist with IT equipment inventory and asset management records. Provide support for approved endpoint security and antivirus procedures. Collaborate on technology onboarding and offboarding activities. Provide remote or on-site user support, depending on operational needs. Maintain up-to-date troubleshooting guides and technical knowledge base documentation. Identify recurring IT issues and communicate them to senior technical colleagues. Support the implementation, upgrade, and replacement of technology equipment. Comply with applicable information security, privacy, and IT procedures. Contribute to improving IT support processes and user experience.
Requirements
Prior experience in computer support, IT support, help desk, desktop support, technical support, computer maintenance, or similar environments is highly valued. Technical education in Information Technologies, Computer Science, Computer Networking, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related disciplines is preferred. Solid understanding of hardware and peripherals. Familiarity with Windows operating systems. General knowledge of software installation and troubleshooting. Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, LAN, Wi\-Fi, DNS, DHCP, and VPN. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 or similar workplace applications is valued but not required. Basic knowledge of user accounts, passwords, permissions, and access management. Familiarity with incident management platforms, help desk systems, or ITSM tools is beneficial but not mandatory. Ability to diagnose common hardware and software issues. Strong technical problem-solving skills. High attention to detail. Ability to maintain accurate technical records. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to clearly explain technical instructions to non-technical users. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple technical requests and shifting priorities. Ability to identify when technical issues require escalation. Willingness to learn new technologies and troubleshooting procedures. Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with technical teams. Entry-level IT certifications or vendor-specific training are advantageous but not required. Candidates meeting most, though not all, requirements are encouraged to apply.
