Thanks to a global team of 100\.000 experts across more than 150 countries and over 130 years of innovation, we are the force behind our customers’ mission. **POSITION DESCRIPTION:** Johnson Controls, through its mining division **(Westfire)**, is seeking a **Fire Detection and Suppression Systems Specialist** to deliver specialized technical support to large-scale mining operations, ensuring operational continuity and reliability of critical systems under NFPA standards and mining safety regulations. **PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Execute commissioning and startup activities for fire detection and suppression systems. * Configure and program fire detection and alarm panels. * Conduct inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems. * Perform door fan tests (leakage tests) on clean agent systems. * Diagnose faults and propose technical improvements and optimizations. * Provide specialized technical support for mining contracts. * Prepare field technical reports and on-site training. * Maintain technical liaison with suppliers and factory support. **REQUIREMENTS:** * Professional degree in Electronic Engineering, Automation and Control, Electrical Engineering, or related field. * Minimum **7 years of experience** in fire detection and suppression systems. * Minimum **3 years of experience in large-scale mining**. * Proven experience with **Notifier, Cheetah Xi, and VESDA** platforms. * Proficiency in suppression systems including **ANSUL, AFEX, clean agents (FM\-200 and Novec 1230\), CO₂, foam, and water-based fire sprinkler systems**. * Knowledge and application of standards **NFPA 72, 25, 2001, 12, 17/17A, 11, 10, and 121/122**. * Intermediate technical English. * Valid Class B driver’s license. * Medical fitness compatible with mining site work, high altitude, physical height restrictions, and confined spaces.
