AgroReservas de Chile is looking for a **Mechanic** to join our local agricultural team.
Summary
Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on agricultural machinery, vehicles, and equipment, ensuring availability, safety, and minimal operational downtime.
### **Responsibilities:**
* Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, or structural failures in agricultural machinery, vehicles, implements, and equipment.
* Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to schedules, manufacturer manuals, and supervisor instructions.
* Repair and adjust engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, brakes, implements, structures, and associated components.
* Record completed work, parts used, detected faults, and improvement recommendations.
* Inspect equipment before and after repair to verify safe and proper operation.
* Support planning for spare parts, tools, and materials required for maintenance tasks.
* Propose improvements to prevent recurring failures, reduce downtime, and preserve equipment service life.
* Perform welding, cutting, assembly, or structural repair as appropriate to your competence.
* Keep tools, workshop equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and in good condition.
* Guide less-experienced mechanics or operators when necessary.
* Provide emergency support during harvest season or other critical operations.
* Comply with safety regulations, equipment lockout procedures, proper use of PPE, and appropriate handling of waste, oils, and fuels.
### **Qualifications:**
* Technical diploma in Mechanics, Agricultural Machinery, Heavy Equipment, Automotive Mechanics, Electromechanics, or equivalent experience.
* Preferred 3–5 years of experience maintaining agricultural machinery, vehicles, trucks, tractors, or heavy equipment.
* Practical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, basic electricity, welding, diagnosis, and preventive maintenance.
* Ability to interpret technical manuals, maintenance guidelines, work orders, and simple schematics.
* Basic computer skills to record work, access technical information, or report maintenance activities.
* Valid Class B driver’s license; Class D or A preferred depending on equipment operated.
* Orderliness, precision, fault analysis, teamwork, and safety orientation.
* Authorization to work in Chile.
### **Physical Demands and Work Environment:**
* Exposure to noise, dust, grease, oils, fuels, welding, tools, and moving machinery.
* Requires standing, bending, working underneath or above equipment, and handling tools throughout the shift.
* May require lifting or moving moderately heavy parts, spare parts, and tools while adhering to safety standards.
* Mandatory PPE includes safety footwear, gloves, goggles, hearing protection, welding helmet, or others as task-specific.
* May require after-hours, weekend, or peak-season support to resolve critical failures.
* Must maintain constant awareness of field safety conditions and report observed hazards.
