We consider inclusion and diversity fundamental to meeting present and future challenges.*** **ARAUCO seeks a Junior–Mid Level Data Scientist to join its analytics and digital transformation teams.** The role’s purpose is to apply data science and artificial intelligence to industrial processes, developing solutions that deliver concrete impact on operations, maintenance, and decision-making—with emphasis on adoption and business value. **Key Responsibilities** * Analyze structured and unstructured data to identify opportunities for operational improvement. * Develop machine learning models (classification, regression, clustering, time series). * Implement Python-based solutions for analysis, automation, and functional prototypes. * Collaborate with internal users to understand real-world problems and translate them into applicable solutions. * Develop clear visualizations and reports tailored to different organizational levels. * Integrate data sources (APIs, databases, files) and ensure data quality. * Participate in transitioning prototypes into production-ready solutions alongside technical teams. * Explore and implement generative AI and LLM tools in industrial use cases. **Requirements** **Education:** * Civil Engineer, Industrial Engineer, or related degree in data, computer science, industrial engineering, or mathematics. **Experience:** * 1–3 years in data science, advanced analytics, or similar roles. **Technical Skills:** * Python (pandas, numpy, scikit\-learn, matplotlib/seaborn). * Fundamentals of Machine Learning. * Handling structured and unstructured data (SQL/NoSQL, APIs, CSV). * Experience with generative AI and LLM tools (OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain or similar). * Best development practices (Git, modular code, virtual environments). **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience with industrial tools (PI System, AspenOne or other historians). * Cloud platform knowledge (AWS, Azure or GCP). * Experience with agent frameworks or RAG (LangGraph, LlamaIndex or others). **Competencies** * Problem- and impact-focused mindset—not just model-centric. * Ability to understand industrial processes and translate them into data-driven solutions. * Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. * Adaptability to dynamic environments and imperfect data. * Internal customer orientation and collaborative teamwork.
