Currently, we are looking for an **Import Engineer** to replace a colleague on medical leave.
**What are the responsibilities of this position?**
To control, manage, and optimize SMU’s import operations, coordinating the planning of merchandise intake at the Distribution Center and monitoring the supply flow, in order to ensure product availability, optimize logistical capacity, and provide timely visibility for decision-making through the development of reports and KPIs.
**What will be your key responsibilities?**
* Consolidate and maintain visibility of import status, tracking shipments, arrivals, and logistics chain contingencies.
* Control the import budget, reception forecasts, and Distribution Center capacity.
* Plan and coordinate the intake and dispatch of merchandise at the Distribution Center, defining reception priorities and communicating the plan to relevant departments.
* Manage cargo prioritization, shipment expediting, and commercial campaigns, monitoring stock levels and remaining inventory.
* Control and track Non-Food category purchases, monitoring progress from origin to receipt.
* Develop and analyze management indicators, identifying improvement opportunities in import and logistical planning processes.
**Requirements:**
* Degree in Industrial Civil Engineering, International Trade Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 3 years of professional experience.
* Advanced Excel proficiency **(mandatory).**
* Power BI, SAP, or automation knowledge is a plus.
