Position Overview
We are looking for a **Data Engineer** to join our growing technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining reliable data pipelines and infrastructure that support our precision\-farming and agricultural analytics platforms.
You will work with sensor data, agricultural datasets, cloud\-based systems, and analytics tools to ensure that data is collected, processed, stored, and made available accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
* Collect and process data from agricultural sensors, IoT devices, databases, and other sources.
* Clean, transform, validate, and organize large datasets.
* Develop and maintain databases, data warehouses, and data\-processing systems.
* Monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot data\-quality or system issues.
* Collaborate with data analysts, software developers, agronomists, and other technical teams.
* Optimize data workflows for performance, reliability, and scalability.
* Implement data\-quality checks and appropriate security practices.
* Support analytics and reporting systems used for crop monitoring and irrigation optimization.
* Document data processes, pipelines, schemas, and technical solutions.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in **Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics**, or a related field.
* Previous experience in **Data Engineering, ETL/ELT, database development, or data pipeline development**.
* Strong knowledge of **SQL** and relational databases.
* Programming experience with **Python**, Java, Scala, or a similar language.
* Familiarity with data warehouses, data lakes, or cloud\-based data platforms.
* Understanding of data modeling, data integration, and data\-quality principles.
* Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and analyze large datasets.
* Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to work independently while meeting project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with **AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform**.
* Experience with Apache Spark, Airflow, Kafka, or similar data technologies.
* Familiarity with **IoT, sensor data, or real\-time data processing**.
* Experience working with agricultural, environmental, geospatial, or sustainability\-related datasets.
* Knowledge of machine\-learning data pipelines or analytics platforms.
* Experience with visualization and business\-intelligence tools.
