




INTERNAL - EXTERNAL COMPETITION Call for submission and evaluation of credentials Hourly teaching position for the Political and Legislative Process course (ADP01214) 1. Call The School of Public Administration at the Faculty of Management and Economics of Universidad Diego Portales announces a public competition for an hourly teaching position for the Political and Legislative Process course, in person, during the first semester of 2026. It is important to highlight that all selection processes within our institution are open to applicants with disabilities. Functions to Perform Teach the Political and Legislative Process course at the School of Public Administration starting March 2026. The course is a third-semester subject in the Public Administration curriculum, offered every semester (first semester each year), consisting of two weekly lecture sessions. In addition to direct teaching hours (2.67 hours), indirect teaching hours (2.83 hours) are included, covering periodic content coordination meetings, planning, grading assessments, and in-person student support. The scheduled teaching times (two weekly sessions) are Fridays from 14:30 to 17:20 hrs. The campus is located at Av. Ejército Libertador 333, Santiago Centro commune, specifically in the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at Universidad Diego Portales. The course analyzes the fundamental characteristics of the political and legislative process in Chile. Focusing on key political actors and institutions, the first part of the course centers on factors explaining the dynamics of political decision-making in the Chilean context. We will explore institutional models, including presidentialism, power relations, and the role of political parties. We will delve into theoretical frameworks that shed light on the law-making process and the complex relationships between the Executive and Legislative branches in the Chilean political landscape. The second part of the course will address procedural aspects of the legislative process, enabling students to understand in detail how ideas are transformed into laws within the specific context of Chile. 3. Application **3.1.- General and specific requirements to apply:** Hold a professional degree in Public Administration, Sociology, or social sciences; Master's degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Government, or Political Science. University teaching experience in related subjects is desirable. Professional experience in political advisory and legislative management is desirable. **3.2.- Applicants must include:** Curriculum Vitae detailing education and relevant experience (professional and teaching) related to the position applied for. Simple copy of undergraduate academic degree or professional title. Simple copy of Master’s or Doctoral academic degree (if applicable). Proof of university teaching experience (if applicable). Most recent teaching evaluations (if applicable). 4. Selection Process **The selection process includes the following stages:** Pre-selection based on submitted credentials. Interview: During the interview, in addition to assessing candidates' suitability for the position, the working conditions under which they would perform the role will be discussed. Finally, based on the information gathered, the winning candidate will be selected. **5.
