At AT Rhizome Engineering SpA, we deliver maintenance, technical support, and engineering services aimed at improving equipment and facility reliability, safety, and availability. We seek a Maintenance Engineer capable of planning, coordinating, and supervising preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational continuity of electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical equipment, reducing failures and downtime. This role requires experience in maintenance planning, failure analysis, work order management, and technical personnel coordination. The candidate will collaborate closely with operations, production, risk prevention, procurement, contractors, and specialized suppliers. The candidate must also analyze key performance indicators, identify improvement opportunities, and propose solutions to extend asset life and optimize maintenance costs. **Key Responsibilities:** **Maintenance Planning:** Develop and update preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for equipment and facilities. **Work Order Management:** Create, assign, prioritize, and track maintenance work orders, verifying proper execution and closure. **Failure Diagnosis:** Investigate mechanical, electrical, and operational issues, identifying root causes and defining corrective actions. **Preventive Maintenance:** Coordinate inspections, adjustments, cleaning, lubrication, calibration, and scheduled component replacement. **Predictive Maintenance:** Support vibration analysis, thermography, electrical parameter measurement, technical inspections, and condition monitoring. **Technical Supervision:** Coordinate the work of technicians, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring compliance with established specifications and procedures. **Equipment Availability:** Implement actions to reduce recurring failures, downtime, and productivity losses. **Spare Parts Management:** Review material, component, and tool requirements, maintaining adequate stock levels of critical spares. **Performance Indicator Analysis:** Monitor metrics such as availability, reliability, mean time between failures (MTBF), mean time to repair (MTTR), and maintenance program compliance. **Continuous Improvement:** Propose technical modifications, process improvements, and optimization projects to enhance operational efficiency. **Asset Management:** Maintain up-to-date technical records, maintenance histories, equipment data sheets, and asset renewal plans. **Cost Control:** Track maintenance expenses, external service costs, spare parts, and repairs, identifying cost-saving opportunities. **Operational Coordination:** Schedule interventions in coordination with operations and production departments to minimize impact on company activities. **Occupational Safety:** Ensure compliance with lockout/tagout procedures, energy isolation protocols, work permits, and risk prevention measures. **Technical Documentation:** Prepare failure reports, action plans, procedures, checklists, and maintenance reports. **Regulatory Compliance:** Verify that all interventions comply with applicable Chilean technical, environmental, and safety regulations. **Job Requirements:** **Experience:** Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, operations, plant engineering, technical services, or related fields. **Education:** Professional degree in Industrial Maintenance Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or an equivalent specialization. **Industrial Maintenance:** Experience in planning and executing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. **Mechanical Equipment:** Knowledge of motors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and rotating equipment. **Electrical Systems:** Knowledge of electric motors, switchboards, protection devices, frequency inverters, sensors, and control systems. **Failure Analysis:** Ability to apply root cause analysis methodologies, criticality analysis, and structured problem-solving techniques. **Maintenance Software:** Experience with CMMS platforms, ERP systems, SAP PM, Maximo, or other maintenance management systems. **Technical Interpretation:** Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, manuals, specifications, and manufacturer documentation. **Planning:** Skill in organizing resources, timelines, personnel, spare parts, and required services for each intervention. **Contractor Management:** Experience coordinating external companies and verifying quality and safety of performed work. **Maintenance Metrics:** Familiarity with availability, reliability, preventive maintenance compliance, MTBF, MTTR, and maintenance costs. **Safety:** Knowledge of safe work practices, lockout/tagout procedures, work permits, and risk prevention. **Analytical Tools:** Proficiency in Excel and tools for generating reports, analyzing trends, and presenting operational indicators. **Communication:** Ability to coordinate clearly with technicians, supervisors, suppliers, and operations managers. **Professional Approach:** Capacity to make sound technical decisions, respond effectively to emergencies, and maintain consistent focus on safety and operational continuity.
