We are celebrating 150 years and it’s an exciting time to join us: we are shaping the future of mining through digital and automated technologies, embracing new ways of thinking, pioneering innovation, and re-imagining how we work.**About the role** The SHES Advisor provides advice in response to queries on safety, health and environmental matters regarding policies and processes relevant to the Manufacturing or Service Operations Center within agreed timelines; participates in continuous improvement processes and problem-solving activities within the designated workplace center; supports monitoring of SHES performance indicators compliance by leaders and teams in their assigned workplace center and supports timely compliance; ensures accuracy of information and delivery within agreed timelines; participates in projects within the assigned workplace center and company-wide as required; contributes to the development and implementation of Orica's SHES management systems; participates in and supports SHES assurance activities within their areas of influence; supports and assists Orica leaders in fulfilling their SHES responsibilities and accountability; participates in incident investigations; supports the development of a SHES risk profile; implements initiatives to mitigate and prevent SHES risks.**What you’ll be doing** You will supervise on-site execution of contract-related tasks, ensure compliance with Orica standards, and provide strong visible leadership that fosters an appropriate safety culture. You will verify implementation of critical safety controls according to client programs and Orica internal clients, report safety incidents, monitor operating license status, lead incident investigations, ensure compliance with site occupational hygiene and health programs, and contribute to implementing the site SHES strategy.**What you’ll bring**  Experience and technical knowledge in regulatory requirements, client standards, and Orica internal standards.  Independence, autonomy, and self-management.  Strategic and critical thinking.  Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.  Ability to influence at all levels of the organization.  Ability to identify root causes and contributing factors associated with specific safety events.  Knowledge and experience in continuous safety improvement.  Skills to conduct audits and other verification activities.  Capacity and motivation for teamwork and staff development.  Ability to learn to operate safety management software platforms such as ENABLON or ZYGHT.**Education and Experience** Mining Engineer, Occupational Risk Prevention Engineer, or Engineer with Postgraduate Degree in Risk Prevention. Mandatory registration with the Ministry of Health as a Professional Expert in Risk Prevention, as well as SERNAGEOMIN Mining Safety Expert qualification A or B. 5 years of proven experience in risk prevention roles as supervisor and/or risk prevention officer.
