No endless meetings here – if it can be done today, we're all about getting it done today. ### **About the Role:** We are looking for a hands\-on and client\-facing **Sales Engineer** to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in translating real\-world business needs into scalable and technically sound solutions. You will work closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to support pre\-sales conversations and lead technical implementations. This is a highly technical role with direct customer exposure. As a Sales Engineer, you will act as the bridge between customers and our engineering teams, ensuring that technical capabilities are clearly understood, correctly implemented, and aligned with customer needs. **You will:** * **Partner with Sales on Technical Deals:** Support technically complex sales cycles, confidently presenting and defending our architecture, APIs, SLAs, and integration capabilities with highly technical customer teams. * **Own Technical Discovery \& Demos:** Lead technical discovery sessions, product demos, and proof\-of\-concepts. Maintain and improve demo sandboxes, including building automation to support customer use cases. * **Design \& Deliver Integration Solutions:** Translate customer needs into concrete technical solutions covering APIs, data flows, authentication, and implementation plans. * **Lead Integrations End\-to\-End:** Own customer integrations as short\-lived technical projects, from scoping to delivery. You will be expected to push code as part of this work. * **Handle Technical Discussions:** Answer deep technical questions from customers around reliability, performance, failure scenarios, and system constraints. * **Collaborate Across Teams:** Work closely with Product and Engineering to surface integration challenges and customer\-driven improvements. * **Bridge Tech \& Customer:** Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non\-technical audiences. **What (we think) you need to be successful** **(we're open to not checking all the boxes and be proven wrong by outlier candidates as well!):** * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. * 3\+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Integrations, or a similar engineering role with customer exposure. * Strong software engineering fundamentals, including the ability to **write, read, and push production\-quality code**. * Experience working with **RESTful APIs**, data formats (**JSON, XML**), authentication mechanisms (**OAuth**), and **system integrations**. * Comfort discussing architecture, performance trade\-offs, SLAs, and failure scenarios with technical audiences. * Experience **managing integrations as projects**, including coordinating timelines, stakeholders, and technical scope. * Strong communication skills, active listening, and confidence leading technical conversations with customers. * Ability to manage multiple parallel integrations and adapt to changing requirements in a fast\-paced environment. * **This is an engineering role:** Candidates will go through coding and architecture interviews and are expected to push code on the job. **What We Value:** At Topsort, we seek professionals who embody the following qualities to drive our mission forward: * **Deep dive into details**: Professionals who are not content with superficial answers and dive deeply into the details to uncover root causes and optimal solutions. * **Team first**: A low need for individual recognition, always prioritizing collective results over personal credit. * **You thrive with ambiguity**: Exceptional ability to tackle open\-ended problems in unstructured environments, turning chaos into structured innovation. * **Adaptability**: Willingness to learn, mentor, lead, and follow as the situation demands, fostering growth at all levels. * **Urgency**: A disproportionate sense of urgency in execution, while keeping scalability and the creation of replicable processes in mind to ensure long\-term success. * **Curiosity**: Genuinely curious individuals who can quickly learn difficult concepts and apply them effectively.
