Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. and Sumitomo Corporation jointly hold an indirect 30% interest. **Job Description** ------------------------- **Application Deadline: January 31, 2026** Reporting to the Shovel and Drill Maintenance Supervisor, the IV Maintenance Technician - MP Specialist and Component Replacement will be responsible for performing maintenance on high-tonnage equipment (shovels and drills), in accordance with the Integrated Maintenance Plan, applying high safety standards and operational discipline, through collaborative and integrated work within the maintenance and operations areas. The position requires a rotating 7x7 shift schedule at the Quebrada Blanca operation, located in the Tarapacá Region, at 4\.400 meters above sea level. **Key Responsibilities** --------------------------------- * Be a courageous safety leader, complying with and championing safety and environmental rules and standards. * Implement HSEC standards and objectives in area activities and processes to ensure safe operation of assets, people, the environment, and production. * Execute the planned, preventive, and corrective maintenance plan for high-tonnage equipment. * Communicate equipment requirements (inspections) and short- and long-term maintenance needs. * Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and service trucks. * Inspect and clean equipment and components. * Report incidents and hazards promptly. * Assist in investigations of reported incidents. * Perform duties in accordance with defined operational management standards. * Identify opportunities for improvement in processes and systems, and escalate them using QB’s Continuous Improvement Framework. * Implement risk management in the execution of plans and processes in which the role participates. **Requirements** -------------- * Technical diploma at intermediate or higher level in Mechanical Maintenance, Electromechanics, or a related field. * Minimum 5 years’ experience in shovel and drill maintenance (P\&H 4100 XPC shovels and MD6640, Epiroc D65, CAT MD6380 drills), high-tonnage electric haul trucks, and earthmoving equipment. Proficiency in using and knowledge of electronic tools and devices. * Valid Class B, D, and A4 driver’s license * Availability to work regular 7x7 shifts at the Quebrada Blanca site. * Medical fitness to work at the Quebrada Blanca site located at 4\.400 meters above sea level. **About Teck** At Teck, we value diversity.
