Reporting to the Environment Manager, the Environmental Superintendent is responsible for leading the comprehensive management of the Environmental Superintendent's office, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and production plan standards, promoting process optimization and implementation of improvements, and guaranteeing the sustainability and efficient use of company resources. This position is located at the Quebrada Blanca mine site, situated in the Tarapacá region at 4,400 meters above sea level, operating under a 4x3 shift schedule. **Main Responsibilities** --------------------------------- * Be a courageous safety leader, comply with and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures. * Lead and manage teams and operations within the Environmental Superintendent’s office, ensuring compliance with environmental commitments to maintain operational continuity. * Ensure compliance by their teams with national, international, and internal HSEC regulations, procedures, and policies. * Develop and control the superintendent's budget, focusing on daily, weekly, and monthly management, optimizing costs. * Develop and implement continuous improvement and optimization initiatives across all processes within their Superintendent's office. * Manage risks and ensure operational continuity of activities within the Superintendent's office. * Monitor compliance with KPIs and environmental performance targets. * Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensuring availability of necessary human capital for environmental management and that workers possess the required competencies to achieve area objectives. * Lead the implementation of the environmental management system, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards and regulations. * Establish and ensure implementation of frameworks for identification, reporting, and mitigation of risks, ensuring compliance with environmental commitments. * Represent the company before regulatory agencies and industry organizations, managing environmental incidents and ensuring regulatory compliance and appropriate communication during critical situations. **Requirements** -------------- * Degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Civil Engineering, or related field. * Minimum of 8 years of experience in large-scale mining companies. * Minimum of 5 years of experience leading work teams in similar processes. * Valid Class B driver's license. * Knowledge of environmental regulations and legislation (Law 19,300, DS 40, DS 90, DS 46, SEIA, RCA, ISO standards, and SMA regulations). * Desirable specialization in environmental management and compliance. * Intermediate-to-advanced English language skills desirable. **About Teck** ------------------ At Teck, we value diversity.
