At Bechtel, our teams extract these vital resources to support net-zero emissions in a more sustainable way than ever before. **Position Summary:** ----------------------- This position will be responsible for conducting field investigations and special studies for process/chemical design on large-scale projects. Lead the design, development, modification, and evaluation of components and processes used in process/chemical applications for projects with unique requirements. Your coordination will ensure resolution of complex technical problems, customer satisfaction, and fulfillment of project needs. **Key Responsibilities:** ---------------------------------- * Plan and perform independent Chemical/Process Engineering work requiring judgment in evaluating, selecting, applying, and adapting chemical/process engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria on a medium-sized project or assignment in support of a global business unit. * Lead the design, development, modification, and evaluation of components and processes using Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), standards and design guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs). * Interpret new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data. * Coordinate and interact as directed with daily technical work of staff. * Communicate complex technical issues and recommend solutions to senior management. * Develop conceptual designs for Chemical/Process Engineering projects or projects with specialized or unique requirements. * Perform relief system design, including pressure safety valve (PSV) sizing, flare hydraulic system design, and radiation analysis. * Conduct safety, environmental, and operability reviews (HAZOP, CHAP). * Prepare or supervise preparation of discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and support implementation and assist with performance reporting. * Coordinate with client representatives, as directed, to obtain their approval of chemical/process aspects of the work. * Provide mentoring to Process/Chemical Engineering staff by delivering on-the-job training for their professional development. * Contribute to and participate in special technical education and training programs as directed. **Education and Experience:** ---------------------------- This role requires a degree in Metallurgical/Civil/Chemical Engineering (or internationally equivalent) with at least 10 years of experience in copper concentrator plant design and operations. **Required Knowledge and Skills:** ------------------------------------------- Experience is required in developing and managing piping and instrumentation diagrams (P\&IDs), as well as developing mass and water balances, process flow diagrams (PFDs), process design criteria, and operating philosophies. **Benefits:** --------------- For decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of engineers—and beyond!
