At Babel Chile, we seek a Backend Java Developer to join development teams working on high-complexity technology projects, participating in building microservices-based solutions, event-driven architectures, and AWS cloud platforms. We seek a hands-on profile with a strong focus on code quality, automated testing, and operations in distributed environments. Main Responsibilities: * Develop microservices in Java 8 and 21 using Spring Boot and Spring WebFlux. * Design event-oriented and distributed architecture solutions. * Implement SOAP and REST integrations. * Work with NoSQL databases (MongoDB / Redis). * Integrate asynchronous messaging via Kafka and SQS. * Deploy and operate services in containers using Docker and Kubernetes. * Configure and operate infrastructure on AWS (S3, Lambda, API Gateway, EKS, CloudWatch, Redis). * Implement CI/CD pipelines with GitLab. * Automate tests using Karate + JUnit. * Manage dependencies with Gradle. * Apply static code analysis with SonarQube. * Work under agile methodologies using Jira / Kanban. * Participate in architecture reviews and engineering best practices. Profile Requirements — MANDATORY: * Experience developing backend applications in Java (8 and/or 21). * Proficiency with Spring Boot 2.7 / 3 and Spring WebFlux. * Microservices design and OOP principles. * Experience integrating REST and SOAP services. * Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB / Redis). * Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. * Messaging integration experience with Kafka and/or SQS. * Hands-on AWS usage in production projects. * CI/CD pipeline implementation experience with GitLab. * Test automation experience with Karate and JUnit. * Dependency management with Gradle. * Experience using SonarQube. * Agile environment experience with Jira / Kanban. Desirable Requirements: * Knowledge of TMF (TeleManagement Forum) standards in telecom projects. * Experience with event-driven architectures. * Kubernetes resource optimization. * AWS observability experience. * In-depth knowledge of microservices design patterns.
