Identification of skill gaps and proposal of training plans **Location:** Andacollo, Coquimbo, Chile **Employment Type:** Regular full-time **Work Location:** On\-site About **Carmen de Andacollo** Carmen de Andacollo is an open-pit mine producing copper concentrate from the hypogene portion of the deposit. We hold a 90% stake in the mine. The National Mining Company (ENAMI) holds the remaining 10%. Most mine personnel reside in the town of Andacollo, adjacent to the mine, or in the nearby cities of Coquimbo and La Serena. **Job Description** ------------------------- **Closing Date: August 4, 2026** Reporting to the Head of Training and Development within the Human Resources Management team, the **Mine Operations Instructor** will be responsible for training, instructing, and developing the operational competencies of Mine Operations personnel, with emphasis on the correct application of procedures, safety standards, and strategic guidelines established by the Mine Operations Superintendent. Contribute to operational continuity, efficient asset utilization, and improved operational performance through disciplined, safety- and operational-excellence-focused training. This role will be performed at our Carmen de Andacollo operation, located in the Coquimbo Region, on a 4x4 (day) shift schedule. It is important to note that Carmen de Andacollo does not operate a camp; however, we provide shuttle buses from Coquimbo and La Serena. **Key Responsibilities** --------------------------------- * Train and instruct Mine Operations personnel on operational procedures, safety standards, and best operational practices. * Assess and reinforce technical and behavioral competencies of personnel undergoing training, promoting safe and efficient performance. * Provide on-site guidance and support to mine operators as required, ensuring correct execution of operational tasks. * Support Teck personnel training in complementary topics as defined by the Head of Training and Development. * Conduct mine inductions for new Mine Operations personnel. * Support Mine Operations in processing internal license applications for personnel. * Design, develop, and maintain up-to-date instructional and/or evaluative materials associated with training/instruction processes. * Record, document, and manage training/instruction-related documentation—both physically and digitally—via the company’s internal systems. Promote positive behavioral changes contributing to compliance with operational and safety standards. * Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaborative work, and effective communication among work teams. * Encourage self-directed learning and continuous improvement through consistent feedback mechanisms. * Monitor and track training, learning, and operational performance indicators for the area. * Provide technical advice regarding existing or newly developed operational procedures and instructions. * Identify training/instruction gaps and propose training plans aligned with operational needs. * Maintain a satisfactory, safe, and stimulating work environment, demonstrating genuine commitment to personnel safety, energy efficiency, and environmental stewardship per the “Internal Regulations on Order, Hygiene, and Safety” and the “Code of Ethics and Conduct”. * Know and apply ISO 50\.001 standard within their area, along with the Energy and Climate Change Policy, and contribute to achieving its associated objectives and targets. * Contribute to implementation of action plans established under the Energy Management System to meet objectives and targets. * Define and communicate specifications to ensure optimal energy performance of assigned equipment and tasks. **Requirements** -------------- * Advanced Technical Degree in Mining Processes or related field * Desired: Instructor Certification (Chilevalora) * Minimum 10 years of experience in mining operations * Minimum 5 years of documented experience as an Instructor for open-pit mine equipment operations * Experience operating heavy machinery in the Caterpillar line * Accreditation and/or certification in operation of heavy machinery equivalent or similar to: CAEX, Wheeldozer, Motor Grader, Bulldozer, Front-end Loader, and Shovel * Ideally, accreditation and/or certification in drill rig operation * Intermediate-level knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) * Valid Class B driver’s license * Valid Class D driver’s license * Knowledge and experience in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment * Knowledge of ISO 14\.001, 50\.001, and 55001\. * Knowledge of energy efficiency and management systems * Availability to work a 4x4 day shift at our Carmen de Andacollo operation, located in the Coquimbo Region. \#LI\-KG1 **About Teck** At Teck, we value diversity.
