A leading company in the mining industry requires a Mechanic to join its team. Job Mission: The primary objective is to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on vehicles, ensuring their proper functioning, safety, and operability both on-site and off-site, as well as other duties defined by the Fleet Manager. Responsibilities: 1\. Preventive maintenance: perform maintenance on machinery and vehicles according to manufacturer manuals and maintenance plans. 2\. Corrective maintenance: diagnose and repair mechanical failures in machinery and vehicles. 3\. Inspection and diagnosis: conduct immediate inspections upon receiving units at the fleet workshop. Use diagnostic tools and scanners. 4\. Repairs and adjustments: disassemble, repair, and replace defective parts. Ensure that repairs and adjustments are completed within established deadlines while maintaining work quality. 5\. Maintain a safe working environment by following safety procedures and using appropriate personal protective equipment. 6\. Documentation: record all interventions performed, indicating replaced parts. Generate a checklist for each repaired unit prior to delivery. Prepare equipment status reports. 7\. Assist in additional tasks: support other maintenance-related activities as needed. Collaborate with the team to maintain an organized and efficient work environment. 8\. Ensure cleaning of chassis, engine, and bodywork (external and internal) of equipment. Occasionally, this activity will need to be performed. 9\. Advise on the selection of spare parts, equipment, and tools necessary to carry out the work. 10\. Stay updated on mechanical techniques and technologies. 11\. Cleanliness and hygiene: keep the work area clean, organized, and free of pollutants that could harm the environment or safety. 12\. Tool and equipment care: ensure proper organization and protection of tools and equipment used in fleet maintenance operations. Requirements: * Automotive Mechanical Technician diploma from a professional institute required. Mechanical Automotive Engineer or Industrial Mechanical Engineer degrees are desirable. * Certification: Minimum Class B driver's license, preferably also A3, A4, and A5. Knowledge: * General mechanical knowledge. * Proficiency with technology at user level (tablet, notebook). * Ability to operate and interpret automotive diagnostic scanners. * Experience handling mechanical hand tools. * Location: Calama (must reside in Calama) If you are interested, apply with us!
