About **Quebrada Blanca**
Quebrada Blanca (QB) is located in the Tarapacá Region in northern Chile, at an altitude of 4\.400 meters, approximately 240 kilometers southeast of the city of Iquique and 1\.500 kilometers from Santiago. Teck holds an indirect 60% stake in the mine. Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. and Sumitomo Corporation jointly hold an indirect 30% stake.

Reporting to the Mine Operations Manager, the **Heavy Equipment Operator IV – Mine** will be responsible for knowing and safely and efficiently operating electric and hydraulic shovels in both conventional and AHS autonomous areas, in accordance with the company’s established safety, quality, performance, and procedural compliance standards.
This position will be based at our Quebrada Blanca site, working on a 7x7 day\-night shift schedule.
**Key Responsibilities**
---------------------------------
* Be a courageous safety leader, comply with and champion safety and environmental rules and procedures.
* Load material onto haul trucks, perform in\-situ material movements, slope and working face stabilization work, continuously assessing floor conditions to achieve, per the company’s established safety, quality, performance, and procedural compliance standards, an efficient loading process that enhances productivity. Effectively safeguard pit geometry, achieve scheduled production lines, feed crushers with assigned minerals, and protect drilled/loaded blast holes. Protect infrastructure, buckets, cables, etc.
* During shovel operation, detect the general condition of haul truck hoppers, structures, and tires, as well as the continuous condition of the shovel itself (hoist cable, tracks, gears, etc.).
* Continuously monitor and inspect the condition and stability of extraction faces.
* Operate equipment preventively, carrying out tasks according to established specifications, work procedures, and under safe operating conditions.
* Understand and apply the autonomous system, its functionality, and execution in coordination with the AHS control room.
* Refuel assigned equipment and record fuel consumption per procedure. (hydraulic)
* Perform daily preventive equipment inspections (at the start and end of each shift) covering structure, functionality, fire suppression systems, and wear components, completing the corresponding checklist.
* Submit an equipment operations report to the supervisor, documenting activities carried out during the shift.
* Conduct preventive operational tests on the various systems comprising the equipment (steering, braking, and attachments) to ensure optimal functionality.
* Promptly inform direct supervisors of any equipment failures detected.
* Know, operate, and respect parameters for technologies installed on the equipment.
**Requirements**

* Minimum 2 years’ specific experience operating Electric Shovels (P\&H XPC 4100 and PC 5500\)
* Certification or proven experience operating shovels.
* Completed secondary education (mandatory).
* Valid Class B driver’s license (mandatory).
* Valid Class D driver’s license (mandatory).
* Medical fitness to work at a geographic altitude of 4\.400 meters.
* Availability to work regular 7x7 shifts at the Quebrada Blanca site.
