Position Overview United Riders is seeking a qualified and motivated **Mining Engineer** to support projects involving rural infrastructure, terrain assessment, material evaluation, site planning, and technical development. The successful candidate will apply engineering expertise to help assess geological and terrain conditions, evaluate construction materials, and contribute to safe and sustainable infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities * Conduct technical assessments of terrain, geological conditions, and potential project sites. * Evaluate aggregates, rock, soil, and other materials used in rural road and infrastructure projects. * Support planning and development of road construction, rehabilitation, and improvement projects. * Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, site assessments, and project documentation. * Analyze excavation, earthworks, slope stability, and material requirements. * Assist with surveying, site inspections, and technical field investigations. * Identify potential geological, environmental, and operational risks. * Recommend appropriate engineering solutions for challenging terrain and rural infrastructure conditions. * Coordinate with contractors, engineers, technical specialists, and community stakeholders. * Monitor project activities to ensure compliance with engineering, safety, and environmental requirements. * Support cost estimates, project schedules, resource planning, and technical specifications. * Promote safe and sustainable engineering practices throughout project activities. Required Qualifications * **Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.** * Relevant professional experience in mining, civil infrastructure, earthworks, quarrying, or terrain\-related engineering. * Strong knowledge of geology, rock and soil mechanics, excavation, and earthworks. * Experience interpreting geological, topographical, and engineering data. * Ability to prepare technical reports, engineering documentation, and project assessments. * Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements. * Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem\-solving skills. * Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Willingness to conduct fieldwork and travel to rural or remote project locations when required. * Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and relevant engineering or mining software. Preferred Qualifications * Experience with rural road construction, infrastructure development, or transportation projects. * Knowledge of mine planning, quarry operations, drilling and blasting, or aggregate production. * Experience with CAD, GIS, mine\-planning, surveying, or geological modeling software. * Familiarity with Chilean mining, environmental, and occupational safety regulations. * Experience working with contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams. * Professional engineering registration or relevant industry certification is an advantage.
