At Babel, we seek a Software Architect with a strong technical background, ideally coming from roles such as Tech Lead or Senior Developer, with proven experience developing, technically leading, and getting hands-on with code. We do not seek a purely strategic or documentation-focused role. We seek a profile who: * Understands code deeply. * Is capable of performing reverse engineering on existing systems. * Translates technical solutions into formal architecture designs. * Provides technical guidance to development teams from design through to production. Job Mission Design and evolve robust, modern, and scalable software architectures—often starting from existing (legacy) systems—ensuring technical quality, performance, and business alignment. Responsibilities include: * Analyzing current solutions via reverse engineering. * Defining target architecture and evolutionary roadmap. * Translating technical and business requirements into formal designs. * Providing technical guidance to development teams during implementation. * Proposing structural improvements to production platforms. Main Responsibilities * Designing microservices- and event-based architectures. * Performing reverse engineering on existing systems (code, APIs, integrations). * Creating UML diagrams (sequence, components, deployment). * Building and validating technical PoCs. * Defining development, testing, and observability standards. * Reviewing code and providing technical guidance to teams. * Designing migration and modernization strategies. * Defining synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns. * Actively participating in resolution of critical incidents. * Translating complex technical solutions into formal architecture proposals. Profile We Seek A professional with a solid technical track record, having held roles such as: Senior Software Engineer Tech Lead Solutions Architect With demonstrable experience in both software development and technical team leadership. Technical Requirements (Mandatory) * +7 years of total software development experience. * +3 years of technical team leadership or architecture design experience. * Hands-on experience developing with Java 21 / Spring Boot 3. * Design and construction of microservices. * REST and SOAP architectures. * Messaging: Kafka or SQS. * Databases: PL/SQL, MongoDB, Redis. * Containers: Docker / Kubernetes. * Experience with OpenShift or AWS (EKS, Lambda, CloudWatch). * UML design. * Swagger / OpenAPI. * Synchronous and asynchronous architectures. * Object-oriented programming and SOLID principles. * Demonstrable experience in software reverse engineering. Desirable * Spring WebFlux. * Experience in the Telco industry. * Knowledge of TM Forum (TAM, eTOM, SID). * Experience in legacy system modernization. * Experience in event-driven architectures. * Agile methodologies.
