The candidate must possess managerial skills and willingness to integrate into interdisciplinary teams in carrying out professional duties, working in rural primary health care within the commune of Los Vilos through medical rounds, home visits, and other necessary activities to serve a highly geographically dispersed population. Up-to-date knowledge and practical experience with current national programs, protocols, technical standards, and ministerial guidelines related to Primary Health Care (PHC), especially concerning rational drug use and continuity of pharmaceutical care, are essential. Prior work experience in primary health care is desirable, as well as experience managing institutional pharmacies—including procurement, storage, inventory control, traceability, management of controlled substances, and supervision of rural first-aid kits or associated devices—as well as participation in interdisciplinary health teams applying a biopsychosocial and territorial approach. The incumbent must exercise technical leadership of the institutional pharmacy, ensuring compliance with current health regulations; guarantee mandatory professional presence during operational hours; manage medications and supplies; supervise and participate in procurement, receipt, storage, preservation, distribution, and disposal of medications and medical supplies; monitor inventories and ensure proper use of the traceability system; implement and maintain stock management systems (FIFO/FEFO) and expiry alerts; dispense medications and provide pharmaceutical care; and perform safe and responsible dispensing of medications to users, delivering clear clinical guidance on their use.
