**Job Summary – SHEQ Expert (Sernageomin B, Tranque Quillayes Project)** The role is responsible for planning, implementing, and controlling SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment \& Quality) systems at the Tranque Quillayes project, ensuring compliance with Chilean legislation and Fraser Alexander’s corporate standards. It focuses on risk prevention, accident investigation, emergency preparedness, and continuous improvement to reduce incidents and strengthen the safety culture. **Key Responsibilities** * **SHEQ Management**: Maintain and enforce occupational health, safety, and environmental programmes. Implement the SHEQ Integrated Management System at the project, ensuring compliance with DS\-132, DS\-594, Law 16\.744, and internal standards. * **Compliance \& Audits**: Liaise with government authorities (Sernageomin, SEREMI, Labour Directorate) and client SHEQ representatives. Ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and corporate requirements, including audits and inspections. * **Incident Investigation**: Lead investigations of accidents and occupational diseases, define root causes, and implement corrective and preventive measures to avoid recurrence. * **Advisory \& Training**: Provide legal and technical guidance to management and supervisors. Support safety committees, deliver SHEQ inductions, and promote adoption of safe work practices. * **Monitoring \& Reporting**: Conduct site inspections, assess risks, and prepare monthly SHEQ performance reports for management and clients. * **Continuous Improvement**: Recommend new safety technologies, improve procedures, and contribute to building a strong safety culture aligned with Fraser Alexander values. **Key Relationships** * **Internal**: SHEQ Coordinator, SHE Manager Chile, Contract Administrator, Project Manager, HR, site teams. * **External**: Sernageomin, Labour Directorate, SEREMI, ACHS, client SHEQ representatives, contractors. **Requirements** * **Education**: Degree in Risk Prevention Engineering plus valid Sernageomin “B” certification. * **Experience**: Minimum 10 years in SHEQ management within mining operations. * **Skills**: Strong knowledge of Chilean safety and environmental regulations (DS\-132, DS\-594, DS\-154, Law 16\.744\). Proven experience in accident investigation, audits, and SHEQ reporting. Valid municipal Class B driver’s licence with 5\+ years of driving experience. **Competencies** Strong focus on safety, environmental care, and compliance. Skilled in risk assessment, conflict resolution, and SHEQ leadership. Must demonstrate integrity, discipline, interpersonal effectiveness, and results orientation. **Other Conditions** Based at Tranque Quillayes on a 4x3 roster. Requires medical clearance for work at altitude (3,000 m). Authority to approve reinductions, issue disciplinary actions, and request random alcohol and drug tests for staff under contract.
