Diperk, a leader in the distribution of equipment and services, is searching for top talent to fill the role of **Mechanical Diesel Engine Technician for Generator Sets**, to be based at its Santiago Branch**.** This role is responsible for providing technical support to equipment, machinery, and engines included in the company’s product portfolio. The incumbent is accountable for diagnosing major components and systems, as well as performing large-scale repairs. Work is carried out either in the workshop or on-site, as required. The technician assists the supervisor and may make decisions of moderate responsibility. They may supervise the installation and removal of components and lead repair and commissioning processes for equipment, adhering to the highest technical and quality standards. Responsibilities: * Perform preventive maintenance (filter replacement, oil, coolant, valve adjustment, fan belts, and inspection protocols for various systems) across all equipment models. * Perform minor corrective maintenance (replacement of components and targeted repairs) and major corrective maintenance (Top Overhaul – Complete Engine Overhaul) on equipment models represented by the company. * Assemble major components (cylinder heads, fan blades, water pumps, air and oil coolers, etc.), including assembly procedures with corresponding adjustments and torque specifications. * Analyze written technical materials such as service manuals, parts catalogs, and mechanical and electrical forms. * Conduct and execute pre-delivery and technical delivery inspections of equipment and machinery. * Perform basic configurations and adjustments on generator set transfer panels. * Prepare technical reports to support equipment and component evaluation and repair processes, according to requirements and priorities established by the direct supervisor. * Support and assist warranty processes, from initial evaluation and failure analysis through to technical reporting. * Responsible for daily activity reporting (Hours Worked Report), expense reporting, and service reports. * Participate in technical, safety, and customer-related training and instruction programs. Requirements: * Technical higher education degree or engineering degree in mechanical disciplines. * Minimum 4 years’ experience with generator sets. * Experience in customer service. * Knowledge of internal combustion engines and their systems, machinery, electrical and hydraulic systems—including respective components—with ability to diagnose and repair. * Failure analysis capability and ability to prepare root cause analysis reports to substantiate failures and related services. * Residence in Santiago.
