Data Scientist \& Optimization Developer At PS GRUPO HUNTING, we seek to incorporate a professional with a solid analytical background, logical-mathematical thinking, and motivation to grow in optimization solutions applied to real-world business problems. The ideal candidate must be oriented toward solving complex problems related to assignment, planning, scheduling, or operational optimization using mathematical models, exact methods, or heuristics. This role focuses on designing and implementing optimization solutions based on mathematical programming and algorithms. Role Objective Develop and implement mathematical optimization models to solve highly complex business problems, applying techniques such as linear, integer, nonlinear programming, heuristics, or metaheuristics—with emphasis on efficiency, scalability, and operational applicability. Key Responsibilities * Design, formulate, and implement mathematical optimization models. * Solve assignment, planning, scheduling, routing, or operational optimization problems. * Apply exact and/or heuristic techniques to solve complex problems. * Build solutions using Python and specialized optimization libraries. * Analyze input data, constraints, decision variables, and objective functions. * Evaluate feasibility, performance, and scalability of developed solutions. * Implement, test, and fine-tune optimization models in real or simulated environments. * Clearly communicate technical results to both technical and business teams. * Collaborate on integrating analytical solutions with existing systems or processes. Mandatory Technical Requirements * Proficiency in Python for solving analytical and/or optimization problems. * Practical knowledge of linear programming, integer programming, mixed-integer programming, or nonlinear programming. * Ability to formulate optimization problems: decision variables, constraints, and objective function. * Academic, personal, or professional experience in assignment, planning, scheduling, routing, or operational optimization problems. * Proficiency with optimization libraries or tools such as PuLP, Pyomo, OR\-Tools, scipy.optimize, Gurobi, CPLEX, or similar. * Ability to solve problems using logical, mathematical, analytical, and structured thinking. * Understanding of exact methods, heuristics, or metaheuristics for tackling complex problems. Preferred Qualifications * Experience developing solutions for combinatorial problems. * Knowledge of heuristic or metaheuristic algorithms. * Experience developing APIs or backend frameworks. * Knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases. * Familiarity with cloud tools or deployment environments. * Experience integrating optimization models with production systems. * Participation in academic, personal, or professional projects related to mathematical programming, optimization, or operations research.
