We are seeking a professional with the appropriate experience for the **Qualified Welder** position at our MMO en route to Coronel. **Key Responsibilities for this Position:** * Proactively perform maintenance tasks to ensure proper operation of mechanical equipment, following established instructions and procedures. Use specialized tools and devices to diagnose and repair detected faults, ensuring plant equipment operability and reliability. * Interpret mechanical drawings that define the operation and/or functionality of a system or equipment. * Perform layout of parts made from carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, iron sheet, etc., using tools such as rulers, protractors, tape measures, punches, levels, plumb bobs, and other tools, according to dimensions, angles, widths, and diameters specified in technical drawings. * Cut, bend, assemble, and finish laid-out parts, including guillotine cutting, assembly, rolling, industrial welding, and metal structures. * Perform assembly, welding, and fabrication of mechanical components; conduct mechanical equipment inspections; perform visual inspections on sheet metal and piping components. * Carry out welding and cutting processes including shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), tungsten inert gas (TIG), metal inert gas (MIG), metal active gas (MAG), oxy-fuel, brazing, and plasma. * Operate hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and lifting equipment. * Conduct inspection routes on static and rotating mechanical equipment. * Dismantle and assemble mechanical machines and equipment. * Diagnose faults and perform repairs. * Actively participate in training sessions and courses. * Support the maintenance planning and scheduling department with information. * Assist in identifying root causes and support solution development. * Carry out activities in an organized and effective manner, contributing to the proper use, maintenance, and cleanliness of equipment and facilities within the area of operation. * Comply with company-established safety, hygiene, quality, and discipline requirements, adhering to established regulations and directives from immediate supervisors, clarifying any questions regarding them, in order to implement current regulations and serve as a behavioral role model for other employees in the operational area. * Understand Valmet’s mission, values, policies, and objectives, taking into account pre-established standards, instructions, and procedures as guarantees for quality, occupational safety, environmental protection, and preventive medicine—contributing to appreciation, optimization, digitalization processes, sustainable development, and improved service to internal and external customers. **Required Qualifications for Performing These Activities:** * Completed secondary education. * Knowledge of industrial mechanical equipment. * Welding certification preferred. * Experience in welding and industrial mechanical maintenance activities. * Valid welding certification.
