We hold a 90% stake in the mine. The National Mining Company (ENAMI) holds the remaining 10%. Reporting to the Head of Environmental Systems and Assurance, the **Environmental Coordinator** will be responsible for monitoring field-level regulatory and operational compliance related to the Company’s established environmental programs and for developing various components of their responsibilities; collaborating to maintain excellent, trust-based relationships with communities. This position will be based at the Carmen de Andacollo operation under a **4x3 shift system\. Our operation does not have a camp**, but we provide shuttle buses from Coquimbo and La Serena. **Key Responsibilities** --------------------------------- * Be a courageous safety leader, comply with and champion safety and environmental rules and procedures. * Support and execute tasks assigned by the supervisor to whom the role reports. * Enforce the Company’s applicable environmental policies, procedures, and standards for contractors and suppliers. * Monitor in the field the environmental commitments assumed by the Company and required under current environmental regulations. * Provide technical support during the review of environmental monitoring reports (reporting on internal and/or governmental platforms). * Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents required by supervisors or the Environmental Area leadership. * Conduct technical analysis and follow-up of action plans within the framework of environmental incident management. * Support and participate in internal and external audits, in accordance with the audit program defined in the Environmental Management System (EMS). * Support and monitor in the field the tasks and activities performed by environmental advisors, contractors, or consultants. * Coordinate, facilitate, and accompany visits/inspections by environmental authorities and other stakeholders interested in learning about the Company’s environmental matters, whether scheduled or contingency-related. * Maintain a satisfactory, safe, and stimulating work environment, with genuine commitment to people’s safety and environmental protection, in accordance with the “Internal Regulations on Order, Hygiene, and Safety”. * Know and apply ISO 50\.001 standard in their area and the Energy and Climate Change Policy, contributing to achieving associated objectives and targets. * Contribute to implementing action plans established in the Energy Management System to meet objectives and targets. * Define and communicate specifications to ensure optimal energy performance of acquired equipment and services. **Requirements** -------------- * Hold a degree in Environmental Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. * Minimum two years of experience in similar positions. * Knowledge of various mining processes (copper extraction and production). * Familiarity with and ability to apply current environmental institutions and regulations. * Knowledge of management systems based on ISO standards, especially ISO 14\.001\. * Experience analyzing and reviewing environmental monitoring reports for components such as air, water, soil, noise, etc. * Interaction and coordination with environmental authorities (response to inspections and fulfilling requests). * Environmental document management and reporting. * Knowledge of emission, effluent, and critical environmental variable control. * Experience managing and tracking environmental incidents. * Experience using platforms operated by environmental authorities, such as the Environmental Superintendent, Environmental Assessment Service, Ministry of the Environment, etc. * Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office. * Class B driver’s license with minimum one year of validity. * Availability to work under a 4x3 shift system. **About Teck** At Teck, we value diversity.
