La Coipa poured its first gold bar in March 2022 after resuming operations following suspension in 2013. Kinross is conducting an exploration program to potentially extend the mine’s life. Job Description Inspect plant equipment using specific monitoring instruments, visual inspections, non-destructive testing, and execution of scheduled preventive routes to detect and prevent failures, thereby contributing to ensuring the availability and reliability committed in production and maintenance plans, in accordance with MDO and Kinross policies, standards, and procedures. Job Responsibilities * Inspect, detect, and collect data from plant equipment and facilities to identify operational trends (e.g., noise, vibration, temperature, failures) during operation or while equipment is shut down. * Report failures, as well as the current status or condition of key assets under your responsibility, to the responsible maintenance and planning analysts and supervisors. * Assess equipment condition status using non-destructive testing techniques. * Conduct field-based condition monitoring activities. * Maintain monitoring equipment in optimal working condition to ensure continuity of predictive processes. * Keep updated records of tools, software, instruments, and consumables used in monitoring and maintenance activities. * Monitor functionality and calibration status of tools and instruments used for maintenance. * Support area initiatives, new projects, tasks, or needs. * Participate in internal training programs for monitoring personnel. * Share information, knowledge, and experience related to predictive maintenance and symptomatic analysis within the work team. * Promote and optimize communication among maintenance, operations, and planning departments. Education and Experience Formal Education: Technical professional in Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent discipline. Experience: Minimum 2 years in the role, with focus on condition monitoring maintenance in the mining industry. Experience in one of the following positions: Predictive Maintenance Inspector or Level III Mechanical Technician. Other Knowledge: * Basic condition monitoring and failure detection techniques. * Basic metrology. * Office suite. * Basic Excel. * Prior exposure to NDT techniques (thermography, oil analysis, vibration analysis, ultrasonics). * Basic knowledge of vibration analysis. * Basic knowledge of failure analysis using thermography. * Proficiency in magnetic particle and liquid penetrant NDT techniques.
