Job Description We are seeking a Chemist B responsible for performing chemical and physical analyses of samples in the laboratory, ensuring compliance with procedures, result quality, and proper preparation and handling of samples and supplies. Main Responsibilities Perform chemical analyses of samples (e.g., iron, sulfur, phosphorus, ferrous oxide, trace elements, alkalis, free lime, etc.). Conduct physical analyses as required, such as particle size distribution, magnetic recovery, specific gravity, Blaine index, pH, turbidity, and suspended solids. Prepare solutions and reagents required for laboratory processes. Weigh samples and record results in systems and spreadsheets. Verify and validate results prior to delivery, ensuring their quality and consistency. Input data into systems (e.g., SIP or others) and maintain up-to-date records. Handle and dispose of liquid and solid waste in accordance with regulations. Carry out basic equipment maintenance and support their proper operation. Maintain order and cleanliness in the work area. Report deviations, anomalies, or out-of-specification results to supervisors. Requirements Technical or university degree in Chemistry, Metallurgy, Mining, or related field. Minimum 2 years of laboratory or similar experience. Knowledge of laboratory techniques: volumetric and gravimetric analysis, and handling of hazardous substances. Basic MS Office proficiency. Knowledge of safety, quality, and environmental standards. Medical fitness compatible with laboratory work and exposure to operational risks. Willingness to work in the Atacama and Coquimbo Regions.
