Apply now » Date: Jun 3, 2026 Location: Copiapó, III Region, Chile Kinross’ La Coipa mine is located in the Atacama Region in northern Chile, approximately 1,000 kilometers north of Santiago and 140 kilometers northeast of Copiapó. La Coipa poured its first gold bar in March 2022 after resuming operations following suspension in 2013. Kinross is conducting an exploration program to potentially extend the mine’s life. The operation is powered 100% by non-conventional renewable energy to meet its power requirements. Job Description Lead and control mine operational activities during your shift to ensure established extraction programs are executed effectively, efficiently, and safely in accordance with MDO and Kinross policies, standards, and procedures. Job Responsibilities * Monitor extraction fleet and equipment to maximize production and minimize costs, coordinating timely supply to the plant and controlling compliance with external service contracts. Includes deciding on shutdowns due to failures or slope failure risks and maintaining the shift log. * Control execution of preventive maintenance programs, report equipment abnormalities detected, and adjust operational scheduling based on fleet availability. * Ensure personnel safety and compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (SSMA) policies. Lead teams to achieve objectives by facilitating personal development and fostering an appropriate work environment. Education and Experience * Professional degree in Civil Engineering and/or Mining Engineering or equivalent. * Minimum 5 years of experience in Open-Pit Mining Operations. * Knowledge of Mine Operations Monitoring Systems. * Knowledge of JDE Production and Maintenance modules. * Knowledge of Mining Safety. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office. * Intermediate English level 1.
