We consider inclusion and diversity as fundamental aspects for meeting present and future challenges******.*** At **ARAUCO**, we are seeking professionals to fill the position of **Expert Process Safety Engineering Engineer** within the Process Safety Management Department, based at our **Concepción Office.** The **Job Objective** is to develop and maintain the technical and methodological engineering of Process Safety (GSP/PSM) at Arauco, ensuring that design, operation, and maintenance standards for industrial systems align with international best practices and applicable regulatory requirements. This ensures major risks are identified, evaluated, and controlled from the engineering phase through continuous operations, strengthening asset integrity, operational reliability, and prevention of catastrophic incidents. **Key responsibilities include:** * Designing, reviewing, and maintaining process safety engineering standards regulating the application of HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, QRA methods, and design reviews as applicable. * Developing safe design criteria for new projects, expansions, and modifications in pulp plants. * Managing compliance with applicable regulatory standards (DS10/2012, OSHA 1910\.119, API RP 750, NFPA, ASME). * Coordinating and validating the implementation of “barriers engineering”. * Ensuring timely definition of technical requirements for Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), critical alarms, and control systems associated with high-risk processes. * Ensuring necessary actions are taken for effective Mechanical Integrity management, reliability of critical equipment, and compliance with regulatory inspections across all pulp plants. **Requirements** * Education: Civil Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field. * Desirable Master’s degree in Industrial Processes (MSc). Courses in PSM, Reliability-Centered Maintenance, mechanical, electrical and structural integrity management, failure analysis, and Risk Engineering. * Experience: 15 years in Operational Management of high-risk industrial processes (oil & gas, chemical, petrochemical), Engineering and/or critical asset integrity. * Knowledge of: + Process Safety Management (PSM/GSP): mastery of CCPS and OSHA 1910\.119 elements applicable to engineering and safe design. + Engineering Standards and Codes: technical proficiency in ASME BPVC (Sections I, VIII, IX), ASME B31\.1/B31\.3, API (510, 570, 653, RP 520/521, RP 752/753/754\), NFPA 85, IEC 61508/61511, ISA S84\.
