Job Description **Residency:** Región Metropolitana. **PURPOSE** The **Engineering Specialist** will be responsible for providing discipline-specific technical support to the Engineering Management team and Engineering Superintendents across all phases of the Projects Portfolio under the Vice Presidency of Projects. They will play a key role in ensuring quality, technical alignment, constructability, and compliance with corporate and legal standards during engineering development. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** * Support project development management during the Studies and Execution phases. * Support engineering design from the perspectives of engineering, constructability, operations, and applicable current and corporate standards within their discipline. * Support engineering development for various projects and operations, ensuring compliance with requirements and challenges set forth by the Engineering Vice Presidency. * Liaise with Anglo American peers, IoT providers, contractors, advisors, consultants, and auditors for project development. * Identify and report potential engineering issues; subsequently recommend solutions to Engineering Management. * Ensure contractor-provided engineering documentation delivery meets requirements according to scope and associated engineering phase. * Prepare reports and/or presentations on project status, as well as identified potential issues and recommended solutions. * Ensure compliance with legal requirements and other commitments undertaken by Anglo American. * Ensure timely implementation of SHE hazard and risk control measures identified across various projects. * Promptly report unsafe acts and conditions, as well as incidents. Requirements * Professional degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Civil Works. * Master’s degrees, postgraduate qualifications, or certifications in PMI, corporate standards, mining, construction, and governance are desirable. * Master’s degrees, postgraduate qualifications, or certifications related to their specialty are desirable. **Professional Experience:** * Minimum 15 years’ experience in engineering design for medium- or large-scale projects within multinational companies. * At least 10 years’ experience participating in all phases of mining projects. * Proven experience in multidisciplinary engineering and medium- to large-scale mining projects valued between USD200M–USD300M TIC. **Specific Knowledge:** * Agile engineering management and PMI, Agile, and Lean Construction methodologies. * Knowledge of international and local engineering standards. * Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Primavera, Aconex, and MS Office tools (advanced level). * Competency in discipline-specific software. * Knowledge of AutoCAD and BIM methodology. **Interpersonal and Leadership Skills:** **Team Processes:** * Ability to be an effective team member—listening, clarifying tasks, receiving and providing feedback. **Collaboration:** * Builds positive working relationships with a diverse range of people across disciplines. * Communication skills, ability to substantiate and constructively debate ideas. **Other Requirements:** * Experience and willingness to work in Mining Operations, resolving technical aspects to ensure user requirements are met. * Health compatible with site work. * Advanced English proficiency. * Class B driver’s license, held for at least three years.
