Our products are essential ingredients in nearly every aspect of modern life. Our competitive portfolio of world-class operating assets and development-stage resources provides the metals and minerals that enable a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable world, meeting the growing consumption demands of both developed and developing economies worldwide. We apply innovative practices and the latest technologies to discover new resources; extract, process, transport, and market our products to customers globally — safely, responsibly, and sustainably. Anglo American is re\-imagining mining to improve people's lives. Job Description **Role Purpose:** Ensure execution of the maintenance program and timely response to unforeseen equipment failures across all equipment assigned to this role, securing all necessary resources to do so. The objective is to continuously improve the strategy for managing mine equipment under this role’s responsibility. Due to the supervisory nature of this position, the incumbent must demonstrate a high sense of responsibility and be accountable for all aspects associated with their process during their assigned shift. This includes overseeing procedural compliance by workers and third-party contractors involved in maintenance or mine equipment servicing during their shift, aligned with the application, monitoring, and enforcement of the Operating Model. The incumbent must consistently ensure safe work practices, safeguarding personnel and equipment integrity, as well as all aspects related to occupational health, hygiene, and the environment. Finally, the incumbent must ensure adherence to, and serve as a role model for, the company’s values (Safety, Care and Respect, Integrity, Accountability, Collaboration, and Innovation). This role operates under a 4x4 day/night shift system at the Los Bronces operation located in Santiago, Chile, Región Metropolitana. Work will be performed 80% on-site and 20% in office-based administrative functions. **Key Responsibilities:** * Ensure execution and compliance of the assigned MP (Maintenance Plan) program for the process/fleet assigned at any given time, aligned with the applicable date of the incumbent’s shift, following relevant procedures, while safeguarding personnel safety, environmental protection, work quality, and adherence to the Operating Model. * Lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for maintaining the equipment within the assigned fleet, ensuring safe, procedure-driven, and standards-compliant work during each shift — in full alignment with Anglo American standards regarding safety, occupational health, environment, and the Operating Model. * Be accountable for personnel and equipment associated with maintenance processes for the assigned fleet, including maintenance yards and other potential work locations used during the incumbent’s shifts, as dictated by operational contingencies. * Ensure timely and high-quality response to equipment experiencing unforeseen failures (ad hoc work). * Sign and assume responsibility for the handover of maintenance yards for fleet equipment, ensuring technical, operational, and safety quality standards are met. * Ensure fleet equipment does not negatively impact achievement of the mine’s short- and medium-term production and feeding plans, as defined by Mine Operations. * Manage and track spare parts/component requests arising from urgent ad\-hoc work occurring during the incumbent’s shift. If a spare part is removed from one piece of equipment to repair another, the corresponding material requisition form must be completed and processed to ensure fastest possible availability on site. * Ensure availability of all spare parts or components required for any equipment during the incumbent’s shift or resulting from failures occurring during their shift. * Monitor and control notifications related to work performed during the incumbent’s shift using SAP and Octopus (the platform for controlling, monitoring, and executing maintenance work). * Understand and track, shift-by-shift, key performance indicators for fleet equipment (DF, TMEF, TMPR, % Program Compliance, and Operating Model indicators), contributing to budget targets for each indicator. * Ensure operational readiness of fleet equipment and take immediate action if any equipment negatively impacts a productive process — e.g., blocking haul roads, crushing circuits, shovels, blasting operations, or others. * Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and environmental standards in all zones/sectors under the incumbent’s responsibility during their shift (cleanliness, order, etc.). Coordinate with supporting departments when required services are needed. * Ensure availability of tools and equipment for the incumbent’s team; manage timely procurement. The incumbent is responsible for tool availability, proper usage, and maintenance. * Conduct investigations into safety, material, or environmental incidents occurring during the incumbent’s shift or affecting any member of their team. Provide all information requested by incident investigation committees related to the incumbent’s process, equipment, or team. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, either currently being processed or recently obtained. Professional internship experience or thesis work preferably conducted at Anglo American’s Los Bronces operation. Residency in Santiago and availability to work the 4x4 day/night shift schedule. Additional Information At Anglo American, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment where all colleagues are valued and respected for who they are, and where everyone has the opportunity to realize their full potential.
