Finning, CATERPILLAR’s strategic partner and leader in equipment and service distribution, is seeking top talent to fill the role of **Welder – Chuquicamata Underground Contract**. **Job Description Summary:** **Job Description Summary:** Responsible for performing welding, fault diagnostics, and maintenance work on equipment at the site, independently supporting medium-scale tasks within their specialty and larger-scale tasks with initial guidance. **Main Responsibilities:** * Analyze written materials such as Service, Parts, and Mechanics, Maintenance, and Welding manuals and forms. * Perform fault diagnostics on machines requiring repair and carry out preventive maintenance. * Execute welding tasks on equipment covered under the contract. * Implement Preventive Maintenance procedures – request required spare parts when necessary. * Remove and install external components. * Prepare technical reports for customers. **Requirements:*** Professional-level technician from a commercial school or industrial high school, or equivalent years of experience in Mechanical fields, specifically in welding processes and machinery maintenance. * Minimum 3 years of experience in mining equipment maintenance; familiarity with the company’s product lines is desirable. * Experience with underground mining equipment. * Ability to work on a rotating 7x7 shift schedule (day and night). * Medical fitness compatible with performance at high geographic altitude.
