We are seeking an ambitious and motivated professional to join our team as Advisor Technical Pumps, based in Iquique. Introduction We are looking for talent for the position of Technical Advisor Pumps who will be responsible for planning and executing relationships with assigned accounts, promoting high performance of the Metso Pumps portfolio. In this role, the individual will ensure proper care of the installed base and drive business growth for Metso Pumps equipment through on-site presence and proactive solutions to deliver top-tier advisory services. The person must be able to communicate effectively with all organizational levels of the client, influencing decisions to maximize Metso's presence at plant sites. This role is essential in implementing strategies and tactical actions to expand the Metso Pumps portfolio in greenfield and brownfield projects. What You Will Do Be the primary technical contact for the Metso pump portfolio within assigned accounts, proactively addressing any potential issues. Implement on-site strategy to establish MD Pumps as the leader in mill discharge and other applications. Plan, execute, monitor, and provide technical advice to replace competitors, especially in MD pumps. Actively participate with end users in daily coordination meetings. Develop, implement, and update technical procedures and instructions to ensure standardized on-site installations, creating differentiation through constructability and maintainability approaches. Serve as the go-to advisor for the plant’s maintenance, reliability, and operations teams. Incorporate all HSEC standards into documentation and activities. Know, understand, and apply HSEC policies from both Metso and end users. Develop and implement a business plan to achieve financial and growth targets. Collaborate with the BL team to evaluate, define, and mutually agree on mill discharge objectives. Work with procurement and manufacturing organizations to ensure appropriate inventory levels for MD products, in coordination with the MD Pump Product Manager. Provide necessary training to effectively sell pumps or outperform competitors in comminution processes. Monitor competitor activity in the market regarding pricing, new products, customer supply agreements, etc., and collaborate with BL (and vice versa) to develop countermeasures and mitigate competitive efforts. Support the development of commercial and technical support plans for penetrating key accounts with Metso MD products. Conduct competitor equipment studies to gather account data. Visit customer sites to analyze their existing applications. Evaluate pumps and piping systems to provide technical support or recommendations to our customers. Assist customers with product information to upgrade their existing pumps with the latest technology. Recommend spare parts required for proper pump maintenance during operation. Conduct inventory management studies and recommend minimum stock levels. Analyze pump performance and lifespan evaluations. Provide technical improvement suggestions to BL product management and design teams based on field experience, customer feedback, and knowledge of competitor products. Required Professional Profile Four (4) year university degree in Engineering or Business At least 10 years of equivalent experience in Pumps and Slurry Systems, including at least 5 years in Class 4 Mill Discharge Pumps and Systems. Ten (10) years of experience in the industry, company, and product. Five (5) years of relevant mining field experience working directly with end users: Maintenance, Operations, Reliability, Engineering, HSEC, etc. Knowledge of legal matters in the mining industry and Contract Management. Proven professional track record and reliability. National experience and presence in Chile’s mining market, particularly within assigned accounts. Familiarity with the full range of Metso Pumps BA equipment and products. Strong understanding of Metso’s business and applications, industry dynamics, and customer needs. Results-oriented. Ability to understand and apply financial indicators specific to this business.
