At Geoblast we are leaders in mining services, specializing in Geology, Geotechnics, Drilling and Blasting, and more. We are looking for a Geotechnical Mapping Assistant. The position's objective is to provide field technical support for the geotechnical mapping process of drill cores, collaborating with the geologist in measuring, testing, and recording structural parameters, as well as in data digitization, ensuring the quality, traceability, and reliability of collected geotechnical information. **Functions** * Provide direct support to the geologist in charge of drill core mapping, assisting in sample preparation and collection of geotechnical data. * Perform measurements of geotechnical parameters such as RQD (Rock Quality Designation) and FF (Fracture Frequency), ensuring accuracy and consistency in records. * Conduct field geotechnical tests, including needle penetrometer tests, PLT (Point Load Test), and Schmidt hammer tests, according to established technical procedures. * Digitize and upload geotechnical mapping data shift by shift using tools such as Xilab, ensuring data integrity and availability. * Review and verify core recovery and drill hole regularization, contributing to the quality of the drilling process. * Assist in the development, implementation, and improvement of operational technical procedures to optimize the efficiency and reliability of the mapping process. **Job Requirements:** * Geology Technician or related technical field. * At least 3 years of experience as a geotechnical assistant in drilling or benches. * Experience in identifying geotechnical parameters in drill cores. * Proficiency with Xilab and technical data digitization. **Job Conditions:** * Work location: Antofagasta. * Shift schedule: 7x7 **Additional Benefits:** * Contract: Fixed-term for 2 months, renewable for 2 additional months, with possibility of extension to indefinite. * Complementary health and accident insurance. * Be part of a company certified by Great Place to Work. * Performance-based incentives. * Birthday gifts and holiday celebrations.
