Supervise alignment crews and comply with mining safety procedures. **Alignment Foreman – Pump Maintenance** -------------------------------------------- ### **Chuquicamata Concentrator Plant (GEL)** **Company:** SIGMA S.A. **Work Location:** Chuquicamata Concentrator Plant – GEL **Department:** Mechanical Maintenance – Pump Systems **Project Duration:** 3 to 4 months **Contract Type:** Fixed-term project contract ### **Position Description** SIGMA S.A. is currently seeking an **Alignment Foreman** for a project at the **Chuquicamata Concentrator Plant (GEL)**, responsible for **leading and performing mechanical alignment work** on pumping equipment, ensuring correct installation, reliability, and operational continuity of pulp and process pump systems. This position belongs to the **maintenance department**, with an exclusive focus on **rotating equipment alignment associated with pumps**. ### **Main Responsibilities** * Lead and coordinate **pump and rotating equipment alignment work**. * Perform **laser and/or dial alignment** on pulp pumps, motors, and couplings. * Verify and correct **angular and parallel misalignments**. * Control tolerances according to manufacturer specifications. * Coordinate work with pump specialist mechanics and maintenance supervisors. * Supervise alignment crews in the field. * Ensure compliance with **Codelco mining safety procedures**, LOTO, and AST. * Record performed work and observed conditions. ### **Mandatory Requirements** * Technical qualification in **Mechanics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field**. (Not Automotive Mechanics) * **Proven experience as an Alignment Foreman in mining concentrator plants**. * Direct experience in **pulp pump alignment**. * Proficiency in **laser alignment** (SKF, Prüftechnik, or other systems). * Experience in mining operations and work at active plants. * Medical fitness suitable for high-altitude geographic work. * **Desirable Requirements** * Prior experience in **Chuquicamata or Codelco operations**. * Experience in maintenance projects or plant shutdowns. * Valid certifications for LOTO, working at heights, and confined spaces. * Knowledge of vibration analysis or basic failure analysis of rotating equipment.
