We encourage you to take the time to explore the opportunity for a career with Freeport\-McMoRan. **Description** --------------- **Mine Operations Technician** **Primary Function:** The primary function is to replace YU 1800 drill rig operators and assistants, while also supporting Mine Geology in blast hole sampling, logging activities as required, and earthmoving tasks — all performed efficiently, safely, and with quality, focusing on safe production and ensuring operational continuity of the area. **Essential Functions:** \- Study operational procedures and parameters applicable to equipment at this level. \- Operate drilling equipment, including at minimum the YU 1800 drill rig, fulfilling the duties, obligations, and responsibilities inherent to the Driller position. \- Support core processing when required (core orientation, RQD, etc.). \- Support Mine Geology. \- Support the Drilling Supervisor. \- Perform activities that promote and impact safety, environmental protection, energy efficiency, gender equality, and operational excellence. \- Carry out any other task assigned within their work area. **Qualifications** ------------------ **Minimum Requirements:** \- Completed secondary education. \- Class B driver’s license with at least two years of validity. \- Experience as a drill rig operator. \- Experience in exploration and/or geomechanical mining drilling. \- Experience as an underground mine drill rig operator (–90° to \+90° inclination). **Preferred Qualifications:** \- Commitment to occupational safety and health. \- Commitment to sustainability, environmental protection, and efficient energy use. \- Commitment to community engagement, gender equality, and work-life-family-personal balance. \- Willingness to embrace change and continuous learning. \- Orientation toward collaboration and teamwork. \- Focus on continuous improvement. \- Basic mechanical knowledge of equipment. \- More than two years of experience in mining drilling operations. **Reports to: Drilling Supervisor** **\*\* \*\*** **2 vacancies, 7x7 shift** **\*\* \*\*** **Application deadline: August 20, 2026** Sociedad Contractual Minera El Abra is an inclusive company with an active equal opportunity policy.
