**Job Description** --------------------------- The Food Preparation Associate II is responsible for assisting cooks, chefs, or food service managers in preparing recipe ingredients and performing other duties related to food preparation and service. The Food Preparation Associate II must prepare meals according to recipes and production guidelines, as well as follow food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures. Essential job functions and responsibilities may vary by Aramark location according to client requirements and business needs. **Position Responsibilities** -------------------------------- * Prepare a variety of meals according to production instructions and standardized recipes * Set up the workstation with all necessary ingredients and equipment * Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, cutting, trimming, and peeling food items * Safely use a variety of utensils, including knives * Organize, garnish, and distribute food according to established guidelines * Accurately store food following food safety policies and procedures * Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils * Maintain excellent customer service and positive conduct toward guests, clients, and coworkers * Comply with Aramark safety policies and procedures, including food safety and hygiene * Ensure company assets are secure At Aramark, developing new competencies and doing what is necessary to complete tasks has a positive impact on our employees and customers. To meet our goals, job responsibilities may change or additional duties may be assigned without formal notification. **Qualifications** ------------------- * Previous experience in food preparation preferred * Knowledge of various food preparation methods, proper knife handling, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage, preferred * Ability to obtain food safety certification Demonstrate basic math and counting skills Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal This position may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or walking and standing for extended periods.
