You will be responsible for delivering activities as specified in proposals, studies, or projects. Ensure the project’s full scope is included in the plan, with appropriate scheduling sequences and logic aligned with the Critical Path Method (CPM). Develop key milestones to ensure project schedule integrity and implement resource loading and leveling as required. Establish activity durations for a specific discipline or specialty. This is a senior-level position, with the expectation that all tasks will be performed directly without extensive training. **Key Responsibilities:** ---------------------------------- * Ensure integration of the full scope across all functions, departments, and/or disciplines—both in study and project schedules. Prepare and analyze benchmarking data against similar-scope and -characteristic projects/studies—including installation quantity performance, costs, and labor resources. * Develop, evaluate, and review schedule durations for all activities per discipline and ensure their alignment with project milestone commitments. Ensure all disciplines/departments understand, agree to, and comprehend their responsibilities within the schedule. * Collaborate with all disciplines and internal stakeholders (clients) to coordinate work sequences and identify interdisciplinary and/or interface logical relationships and constraints for incorporation into the plan. * Plan, organize, and execute resource loading and leveling under schedule control. Develop all major quantity installation curves. Develop progress and labor force curves, ensuring realism in planning. * Continuously provide schedule knowledge to support discipline planning and interaction with others. * Perform schedule updates and continuous monitoring. Identify variances and collaborate with the team to develop and implement mitigations as needed. * Develop and implement requirements and processes for updating and monitoring the schedule. * Conduct comparative analyses against executed plans of similar characteristics and scope to demonstrate plan feasibility. * Perform risk analysis on the project master schedule to determine an appropriate contingency duration. * Conduct schedule analysis and studies on areas of concern to assess the criticality of scheduled activities. Recommend alternatives to improve the schedule to the project team for discussion and/or decision. **Requirements: Education and Experience:** ---------------------------------------- Requires a bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) plus 10–13 years of relevant experience; or, if no bachelor’s degree, 14–17 years of relevant work experience. **Required Knowledge and Skills:** ------------------------------------------- * Experience in developing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), including preparation, control, and analysis of schedules—both in the field and at headquarters. * Experience leading and supervising a planning team on a day-to-day basis, and creating opportunities for team training and development. * Advanced knowledge of processes and workflows for engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and commissioning within the mining and pipeline industries. * Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive EPC schedules from inception. * Expertise in understanding technical processes, engineering drawings, quantity take-offs, and financial reports. * Proficiency with commonly used operational technology systems, including Microsoft Office applications—Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc. Competence with multiple discipline-specific software applications currently used at Bechtel (e.g., Primavera, Primavera Risk Analysis, Microsoft Project). * Strong oral and written communication skills. * Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
