




Kinross's La Coipa mine is located in the Atacama Region in northern Chile, approximately 1,000 kilometers north of Santiago and 140 kilometers northeast of Copiapó. La Coipa poured its first gold bar in March 2022 after resuming operations following the suspension in 2013. Kinross is conducting an exploration program to potentially extend the mine's life. The operation is supplied 100% with non-conventional renewable energy to meet its power needs. **General Job Purpose:** Ensure regulatory compliance regarding matters related to the monitoring of the company's water component, especially those related to quality and extraction of water resources. **Responsibilities:** * Monitor the identification and evaluation of environmental aspects related to the water component, as well as operational controls and associated environmental management programs. * Select and develop engineering solutions to improve and/or control environmental aspects of the water component. * Identify deviations from environmental programs and processes and propose corrective actions. * Identify and evaluate environmental aspects of processes together with operational areas. **Requirements:** * Civil Engineer in Mining, Hydraulic, Chemical, Mechanical, Hydrogeologist or Geologist. * 8 years of experience focused on water resources, especially regarding quality and control of resource extractions. * Knowledge of regulations related to water resources, laboratory analysis, QA/QC and reporting requirements. * Specific knowledge regarding compliance with obligations to DGA, water use rights and associated infrastructure. **Other Knowledge:** * Hydrogeological models. * Reporting via MEE – DGA. * Compliance with SMA regulations regarding ETFA. * Reporting of monitoring reports according to SMA requirements for the water component. * Knowledge of measurement equipment, sensors, probes and databases. **Languages:** English - Intermediate. **Work Schedule:** Work will be performed on a four days on, three days off shift at the La Coipa site. **PERMANENT CONTRACT** We invite you to become part of a unique team with great challenges.
