The professional will be responsible for continuously monitoring slopes at open-pit operations using next-generation radar systems. Their primary mission is to promptly detect and communicate any instability or anomaly in the rock mass to ensure the safety of personnel, equipment, and infrastructure, thereby enabling uninterrupted mine operations. **Key Responsibilities:** Perform real-time monitoring of geotechnical instrumentation, overseeing slope stability to identify deformation patterns and movements. Apply the current and established early-warning protocol for issuing alerts. In case of detecting significant deformation, activate evacuation protocols to safeguard operations. Prepare periodic geotechnical reports (per shift, daily, monthly, annual, or as required) on the historical behavior of slopes, using specialized software for data analysis. Conduct checks and ensure operational continuity of radar systems, including fuel replenishment and monitoring of critical system indicators (“vital signs”). Maintain an up-to-date database of geotechnical events and failures captured by monitoring systems. What qualifications do you need? **Education:** Technical Diploma (Higher Education Level) in Mining, Geology, Geomatics, Electromechanics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields. **Experience:** Minimum 2–5 years of experience in open-pit mining operations. Specific experience operating geotechnical monitoring radars (e.g., GroundProbe, IDS, IBIS, or Reutech) and/or associated instrumentation (prisms, total stations, inclinometers).
