Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking an Embedded Systems & Automation Technician to lead hardware and automation integrations, designing reliable control logic and integrating intelligent firmware.
Key Highlights:
1. Located in Antofagasta, with a workshop and practical innovation laboratory
2. Engineering culture that values robust code and solid hardware design
3. Access to continuous technical training and advanced industrial technologies
**About the Role:**
Antofagasta is the industrial heartland of Chile, and at EMB Spot Industrial Technology, we apply that same strength and precision to high-tech industrial solutions. We develop embedded systems and enterprise-grade control solutions that transform complex plant operations into automated, seamless workflows. We believe industrial electronics should be neither fragile nor overcomplicated. We seek an **Embedded Systems & Automation Technician** to take leadership of our hardware and automation integrations. You won’t just be connecting cables; you’ll design reliable control logic, integrate intelligent firmware, and serve as the bridge between heavy industrial machinery and cutting-edge digital systems.
**Why Join Us?**
* **The Environment:** Located in Antofagasta, our workshop and laboratory are designed for practical innovation—equipped with modern instrumentation, rapid iteration environments, and a team that values technical excellence.
* **Engineering Culture:** You won’t need to convince us that robust code and solid hardware design matter—we know they do. Your technical solutions will drive real-world machinery from Day One.
* **Modern Stack:** We work with modern microcontrollers, industrial protocols (Modbus, CAN bus, IoT), and industrial-standard PLCs.
* **Growth:** You’ll have access to continuous technical training and hands-on experience with advanced industrial technologies to keep your engineering skills at the highest level.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* **Embedded Systems Development:** Program, flash, and test microcontrollers (C/C\+\+, ESP32, ARM, Arduino, Raspberry Pi) for specialized industrial control devices.
* **Automation and Integration:** Configure sensors, actuators, and communication protocols to integrate smooth automation loops with industrial PLCs.
* **Field Diagnostics and Support:** Troubleshoot complex electronic failures both in the lab and on-site, performing preventive and corrective maintenance on control systems.
* **Schematics and Documentation:** Maintain detailed documentation, including circuit schematics, wiring diagrams, and firmware release notes for each project.
* **Multidisciplinary Collaboration:** Work directly with our engineering team to translate customers’ operational needs into robust, field-ready automation hardware.
**What We’re Looking For:**
* **Experience:** Advanced Technical Degree in Electronics, Automation, Mechatronics, or related fields, with hands-on experience in embedded programming and industrial control.
* **Portfolio / Track Record:** Practical experience building or maintaining electronic systems. We want to see real projects, code examples, or hardware implementations you’ve worked on.
* **Tools and Skills:** Proficiency in C/C\+\+, schematic/PCB reading, oscilloscope/multimeter diagnostics, and industrial communication buses.
* **License and Mobility:** Class B driver’s license (preferred) and residency in Antofagasta (or full availability for on-site and field work).
* **Mindset:** Pragmatic problem solver. You know how to build stable, reliable systems capable of withstanding demanding industrial environments.
Salary: $1\.000\.000 \- $1\.300\.000 per month
Work Location: On-site employment
