Seeking a Process Sampler Job Description This role aims to perform sample receipt, preparation, sampling, comminution, and disposal in the laboratory, ensuring correct processing for chemical and metallurgical analysis in accordance with the company's operational procedures, quality standards, occupational safety and health requirements. Additionally, the role must maintain order, cleanliness, traceability, and control of samples and equipment used in the process. Main Responsibilities • Receive samples from mine operations, projects, crushing, stacking, leaching, and SX-EW, ensuring proper intake and corresponding registration. • Prepare and dispose of samples for drying, comminution, quartering, pulverization, fusion, milling, and physical/chemical analysis. • Operate sample preparation equipment, including crushers, sieves, pulverizers, rotary cutters, homogenizers, milling machines, furnaces, hoists, and heavy equipment as required. • Perform particle size analysis controls and sampling activities associated with metallurgical and operational processes. • Prepare cathode samples for chemical analysis, including weighing, acid digestion, and required treatment per procedure. • Store, preserve, and discard sample duplicates according to laboratory-defined guidelines. • Complete daily operation forms, logs, and reports, promptly reporting any deviations, non-standard conditions, or operational incidents. • Maintain order and cleanliness in the work area, including duplicate storage warehouses, equipment, and operational zones. • Comply with work procedures, safety regulations, operational standards, and internal company guidelines, correctly using PPE and reporting unsafe conditions or acts. • Support other operational areas as required—such as stacking, leaching, mechanical, electrical, or hygiene and safety—primarily in activities involving heavy equipment or operational support. Requirements • Completed secondary education. • Minimum 2 years’ experience in sampling processes or metallurgical work. • Preparation of liquid, mineral, and solid (cathode) samples; crushing, grinding, quartering, fusion, milling, acid digestion, and volumetric measurement; operation of mechanical comminution equipment and field operational support. • Basic Excel and Starlims proficiency. • Valid Class B driver’s license. • Experience in sampling processes (sample control, standardization, automatic core cutting), and sampling quality control (QA/QC).
